选自《创世纪》第三章第19节

 By the sweat of your brow(in the sweat of your face)you shall eat bread till you return to the ground,for out of it you were taken;for dust you are ,and to dust you shall return.

 你必须汗流满面才得糊口，直到你归了土，因为你是自土而出的。你本是尘土，仍要归于尘土。

By the sweat of your brow 原意是汗流满面，大家后多用其喻意：用血汗挣来的；凭勤劳谋生。
