Dear Students, Colleagues, and Alumni:

The donation appeal for Sichuan earthquake emergency relief  has so far raised a total of HK$721,408 - a record amount for UST on-campus donation drive.  This encouraging result says a lot about the compassionate and caring culture of our students, colleagues and alumni.
A cheque for $720,000 will be presented to Red Cross China through the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HK tomorrow Tuesday 2:30 pm. Presenting the cheque to the Liaison Office are representatives from:
   - HKUST Students' Union (Ms Iris Lam & Mr Matthew Luk)
 - Mainland Students and Scholars Society (Mr Alex Fei)
 - HKUST Alumni Association (Mr Almon Kwan)
 - HKUST Staff Association (Dr Zhu Lijing), and
 - HKUST Administration (represented by Prof YS Wong)
