walk 是常用同义词词，没有特殊色彩的饿含义。

wander 的含义就是“无目的地，无固定路线地到处闲荡，漂泊”，可以用与人或物。

例如：The dogs have greater freedom, too, for they are allowed to wander outside their enclosure.

狗也有较多的自由，因为允许它们在围栏外边随便走动。

Don’t let your mind wander during the lecture.

在上课时不要让自己的思想开小差。

stray 强调偏离了正确的路线，或背离了应当走的路线，常包含“走远”或者“走失”的意思。stray  用作名词时常作定语用。

例如：

Don’t stray too far from the correct path.

不要离开正道太远了。

Only two stray dogs benefited from all this confusion.

只有两只野狗从这场混乱中得到了好处。

stroll 与walk 都可以表示“散步”，stroll 所表示的“散步”含有“出门闲逛同时看看风景或有意识地把漫步作为一种湖外活动”的意思。walk 与stroll 都可以作动词或名词，在用作名词时，可说to have or take a walk /stroll .

walk 有“步行”的意思。例如：

It’s a ten minutes` walk from here ..

从这里步行10分钟就到了。

但是在回答How did you get there ? 时，只说：I went there on foot。

They spent the morning rambling in the woods.

roam 指 “在一广大地区无目的地漫游”内含“自由”“快乐”之意。例如

He’s going to roam about the country upon his retirement.

他退休后打算漫游全国。

rove 指“无目的地，但有一定目的的漫游”例如：

Her thoughts roved into the past.

她遐想往事。

meander 意为 “漫步，闲逛，漫游，”指无目的地和无固定方向地走动。例如：

Vagabonds meander through life.

流浪者一生漂泊无定。

meander  还有“蜿蜒地流”之意。例如：

A brook meanders through the meadow.

一条小溪从草地中蜿蜒流过。
