毛毛在两年级的PYP课程：

Dear Primary 2 Parents,  05 September 11

School has commenced for another year and it’s great to see familiar faces as well as we welcome the new ones.

The new students will continue to settle in as we start a new week and begin our planned activities for this semester. So far, we have about 5 new students that have joined us in P2.  （班上来了5个新同学）

In PYP, the theme of our first unit that will continue for the next 6 weeks, is

‘Where We Are In Place and Time’. The Central idea for this unit is ‘Family histories teach us about ourselves.’For the next 2 weeks, the line of inquiry is‘The nature and configuration of a family.’The students will be looking at the importance of what makes a family.

 PYP的主题，我们所处的时间和地点。  核心思想对这阶段是，家族的历史告诉我们关于我们自己。 在下二个星期，主要的问题是， 家族的特征和结构。 学生将看到组成一个家庭有多么的重要。 

From the Chinese perspective in PYP, the students will learn about each character of the “family,” along with the meaning. The students will also brainstorm about the related vocabulary and phrases in Chinese.

学生将用中文学习各自家庭的写法，学生可以发挥想象用中文说相关的词汇和句子。 

In Language arts, the students will begin with reviewing punctuation marks and when to use them.  When practicing, it will include peer editing. This skill will be very valuable when the students start to write about cultures and traditions within their families. (Week 3-4)

语言方面，学生将复习有关的标点符号。 在练习的时候，还包括同行编辑（是相互坚持吧？？ 没理解这词）。这技巧在学生开始学有关他们家庭的历史和文化的时候，特别有用。 

ESL (English as second language) classes will begin Monday for students who are learning English. 

This week in Maths, we will be completing our ‘Time Capsules’ by measuring, weighing, writing and tracing.  We will then move on to reviewing patterns, and work on writing numbers in English.

这个星期的数学，我们将完成我们的“时间胶囊”用，测量，秤重，写和追踪〉 我们将回顾这些图形，然后用英语讲数字写下来。

In Science this week, we will focus on earth science. We will be learning about the past by looking at fossils and dinosaurs.
