白石老人的山水画，每一笔似乎都含着家乡的泥土气息，每一根线条似乎都凝结着大自然的露珠。他的真意在笔墨与观者的巧妙共鸣之间激发，读者会很自然地品尝到画里画外的个中滋味。

齐白石 《临江垂钓图》

题诗：此乡一望青菰蒲，烟漠漠兮云疏疏。先生之宅临水居，有时垂钓千百鱼。不惧不闷鱼自如，高人轻利岂在得。赦尔三十六鳞游。江湖游，江湖翻，踟蹰却畏四面飞鹈鹕。《临江垂钓图》是齐白石早期作品之一，为追仿金农的重要代表作。《临江垂钓图》仅见二幅，其中一幅原为王方宇旧藏，其上款题：“江涛涛，山巍巍，故乡随好不容归；风斜斜，雨霏霏，此翁又欲之何处？流水桃园今已非。”是他的一种离乡别绪的独白。后又有一跋：“看着筠篮有所思，潮干海涸欲何之；不愁为有明朝酒，窃恐空篮征税时。”
