“画鹊兆喜”的风俗也大为流行，古代文人、画家将喜鹊入画，留下形式多种多样、吉祥寓意的报喜图。如两只鹊儿面对面叫“喜相逢”；双鹊中加一枚古钱叫“喜在眼前”；一只獾和一只鹊在树上树下对望叫“欢天喜地”。

刘奎龄 《喜鹊登梅》

流传最广的，则是鹊登梅枝报喜图。在中国传统习俗中，梅开百花之先，是报春的花。喜鹊站在梅花枝头，形容喜事临门，幸运吉祥，所以人们又把喜鹊立于梅梢寓意为“喜上眉梢”。
