Dear Students,

I hope that you enjoy the break from school to celebrate Thanksgiving. I am very proud of the hard work and progress that you are showing.

In order to keep improving, you must practice your English both at school and at home. After the break, I will ask you what you did to practice your English skills.

Here are some recommendations:

1. Finish reading The Giver. Re-read chapters and look up interesting vocabulary words. Or start reading another novel.

2. Watch movies in English to practice your listening skills. I watched a wonderful movie on Netflix called "My Hope America" by Billy Graham. This movie can help you learn more about being a Christian.

3. Listen to music in English and look up the song lyrics. I like Christian artists such as TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, and Mercyme

4. Visit a public library and check out books and magazines in English.

5. Find some opportunities to volunteer to help people. You can get service hours for Bible class and practice your English at the same time.

6. At home, I like to write in a journal every day. This can help you practice your writing skills and  keep a record of your life.

7. Invite some American friends to do something fun with you. This is a great way to practice English and learn about American culture.

I hope you have a wonderful break. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be your teacher.
