李白《静夜思》英译欣赏（一）

      喜欢诗歌的人对“生命诚可贵，爱情价更高。若为自由故，两者皆可抛”、“冬天已经来了，春天还会远吗？”这样的诗句是不会陌生的。这是中国人翻译的外国诗歌。裴多翡、拜伦、普希金、泰戈尔、歌德、莎士比亚等等外国诗人的作品在中国是非常流行的，大家也都是很熟悉的了；而且版本也是很多的。别的不说，单单莎士比亚的作品大家可能就见过朱生豪先生和梁实秋先生的译作的《罗密欧与朱丽叶》、《哈姆雷特》。那大家见过或者读过外国人或者中国人将唐诗翻译成英文的作品吗？ 

    严复老先生提出了翻译的三个原则“信、雅、达”。这个原则为绝大多数翻译人员所接受，但是由于翻译人员的文学功底、个人修养、对两个国家文化背景了解程度的不同，而对同一个作品就会有不同的翻译。我平时比较喜欢读中国古诗的英文翻译，而且还把读过的译文的不同版本收集起来，下面选择几个比较知名的出版社出版的知名翻译家的英文翻译李白《静夜思》作品，让喜欢英语和诗歌的朋友欣赏。

Before the bed shore the bright moonlight at hand,
I fancy it was frost on the ground.
I raised my head to look at the bright moon,
and lowered my head to think of my native land.
