12月13日，下午。LE BOREAL 驶入Cuverville Island. 这个岛使我们登陆的南极诸岛中最美丽的一个。一座座冰山散落在海湾里，像一个海上迷宫。

Cuverville Island是在1897年由比利时探险队命名的。这里是巴布亚企鹅的栖息地。

巴布亚企鹅（P·papua Gentoo penguin），又名金图企鹅，体形较大，身长约60～80厘米，重约6公斤，眼睛上方有一个明显的白斑，嘴细长，嘴角呈红色，眼角处有一个红色的三角形，显得眉清目秀。因其模样憨态有趣，有如绅士一般，十分可爱，因而俗称“绅士企鹅”。

这个岛上有一座300多米高的小山，可以俯瞰整个海湾。这两天在船上足吃足喝，长胖了不少。现在减肥的机会终于来了。登山的路程不长，总共才1.6公里。但是，穿着长靴登山可不是什么好注意。当然，没有登山的路。我们沿着探险队的设置的标志深一脚，浅一脚的艰难前行。走到半山腰，天空中飘起鹅毛大雪。南极的另一种美丽又浮现在眼前。这时，任何话语都是多余的。躺在金图企鹅身边，静静的感受这美丽的雪景。

从山上下来，出了不少的汗。南极真的不冷。今天的温度也就是零下2，3度。羽绒服再套上放风衣明显是穿多了，后来，再有爬山的活动。我都吧羽绒衣留在船上了。

海湾的浮冰实在是太美了。探险队特意驾着橡皮艇带着我们在浮冰中穿行。这时，雪也停了。蓝冰的的倒影反射在海中，那种颜色至今令人无法忘怀。

整个一个下午，我们都在岛上活动。回到船上，我依然站在甲板上，对眼前的景色流连忘返。

晚饭时分，我们的游船穿越Errera Channel。我放弃的法国大餐，一个人在船头。这时天空阴云密布。世界变成了黑白两色！

黑色的海水，白色的浮冰。相机中的彩色照片呈现除了黑白的世界。这种神奇的景象在我的人生中还是第一次遇到。由于水道狭窄，LE BOREAL 不得不放慢了速度。不时的可以听到浮冰撞击船舷的声音。

“当然，船长选择了这条水道，肯定是安全的”， 但是Titanic撞上冰山的情景却不断的浮现在我脑海里。越往前走，浮冰越大。LE BOREAL游刃有余，像条小船在冰山中穿行。好彩，峡谷中没有大的浮冰挡住去路。我们顺利的穿过了 Errera Channel。等我回到餐厅，同伴们还在那里大快朵颐，我当然不会扫大家的兴，点了份牛排，大口的吃了起来！
