Sailing in Qingdao

(2005-08-15 10:18:37)
分类: 航海日志
Today is my third time sailing lesson this year in Qingdao, the wind velocity was still under 3m/s, with big wave and fast tide. The most unbelievable thing which happened today is that: as the wind direction istoday was 90 degree and the current direction was 260 degree, so it took only a few minutes to reach the windward mark. But while we were sailing downwind after rounding the first mark, the mark was "running" farward even faster than ours downwind speed, it seemed that we were just sailing back up. How fast the current speed is!http://spaces.msn.com/rte/emoticons/smile_zipit.gifin Qingdao" TITLE="Sailing in Qingdao" /> Before long, our coach found that it coundn't continue sailing anymore except the upwind, so we sailed back to the harbour early in the afternoon.
I am now wondering that will the olympics in 2008 going well under this kind of oceanic situation? If the wind speed is up to 6m/s or more then that won't be a serious problem for racing. But the wind is Qingdao is always as small as 1~3m/s. I am a little worried about this.http://spaces.msn.com/rte/emoticons/smile_confused.gifin Qingdao" TITLE="Sailing in Qingdao" />
Now I wish everything will going well in those people who preparing for the 2008 Olympics, and all the best with good luck to successfully conduct a great Olympic Games.http://spaces.msn.com/rte/emoticons/rose.gifin Qingdao" TITLE="Sailing in Qingdao" />
