NXT Robotics & Programming
I made my robot to knock over other robots today using sensors included in Lego Mindstorms NXT Education. I used all the sensors (except the extra touch sensor).
This is the
project:
Notice that the
ball-hitter is on, but in the competition, I removed it because it
was too much weight on one side, so there is a higher probability
of tipping over to the left. Well, now William (or Will for short)
and I got to work. Well, I discovered that the robot does not
really go straight, so I used his light project: Project BUS.
Project BUS is for the robot ‘seeing’ the track underneath the
robot. It was designed by Will when he noticed that green tape does
not reflect light and the ground does. Well, I thought about the
program a little bit and came up with a hypothesis: to turn back
and forth, the light sensor must detect a short light/no-light
sequence. For that, we need green non-reflective tape. Well, the
rules of the sumo contest says that you cannot put on a track that
the robot (or rover) follows or avoids.
