打铁趁热，赶紧发篇娃写的棒球赛，和为娘的中文版遥相呼应。该日记颇有资深流水账之嫌，但贵在三言两语也算通俗易懂，其中穿插了孩子的小幽默以及真实的心理活动，体现出该小球员以乐观淡定的态度在球场上打酱油的欢乐场面 .

 My Baseball Game

Chapter 1: Don Gerend and the Opening Pitch

I had a baseball game Saturday，this was the first game of this year. We started the game 3:00 straight. We had to stand in line. A city council member (Don Gerend) even was there.

The coaches introduced us one by one by first name.Then, Don Gerend threw the opening pitch to Sam; who was supposed to be catcher in the first inning. He threw it too fast and Sam missed. We had to run to home plate and high five with Don Gerend and the coaches. We ran in order by player number. After that, we started the first inning. My fielding position was Right Center (located on map) .

Chapter 2: First inning

We had our first inning, and I barely caught any balls, forget pop-flies. When it was batting time, I sat in order (Sam in front of me and Sam after Brandon) . When I got to bat, I missed a couple and hit; I ran safely to First Base. Same with other bases, I ran safely all the way home. Brandon asked: “Did you make it home?” I answered  “Yes!” I watched the rest of the inning in the dugout.

Chapter 3: Second inning

I played shortstop in this inning. It was totally better than playing Right Center. Find Shortstop on this map:

After 1 out, I was starting to see ‘The Nick Effect’. Almost everybody on the Giants were getting out at second base because of Nick. So basically it was a short inning. Well that’s the good news. I have some bad news too. Guess what? I striked out!

Chapter 4.1: Third inning

I was playing catcher this inning. Looking for a map? Well here it is.

 
I had to get on my gear right after that strikeout. I did not do a good job catching, but why do we have to kneel anyways? Well, I actually had hit the ball on my first hit and was safe home! Brandon always asks me that dumb question “Did you make it home?”.

Chapter 4.2: Fourth inning

I played Left Center this inning.

As I said, hardly any balls came my way. Except one time a boy hit the ball into the center field. Jonathan and I were chasing after the ball, but he got the ball first. Well, time for some bad news. I got a forceout. I just hit the ball the wrong direction, you know. I tried to hit it to third, but instead of third, it was caught by the pitcher. The pitcher threw it to second, which was thrown to first. All of that happened before I even ran ¾ of the distance between Home Plate and First Base. Well remember that dumb question Brandon was asking me every time I ran into the dugout? Well, this inning, he did not ask!

Chapter 5: Lastly……

After the game ended, we got in line and had to mid-five and say “Good Game.” to all the players (even ones that are on our team). It was the best baseball game ever! I hope I could do better in future games.
