11. Dream of Spring

春之梦 

I dreamed of flowers all colourful,

As they might bloom in May.

I dreamed of lush green meadows,

Alive with sweet bird song.

And when the cocks began to crow,

My eyes were wide awake,

But all around was cold and gloom

From the roofs the ravens cawed.

But what of these window panes

Who painted flowers on them.

Stop your laughing at this dreamer

Whose eyes gave him flowers in winter!

I dreamed of a love of love,

Of a maiden so beautiful,  

Of kisses and of hearts,

Of rapture and of bliss!

And when the cocks began to crow,

My heart was wide awake.

Now I sit here on my own

With the memory of a dream.

I close my eyes again;

My heart still beats so warm.

When will the window’s leaves turn green?  

When will I hold my love in my arms again?   

我梦见鲜花，全都缤纷五彩，

就像在五月那样盛开。

我梦见碧绿葱翠的牧场，

还有鸟儿歌唱，甜蜜而又可爱。

雄鸡啼了，   

我把眼睛大大地睁开，

可只有乌鸦在屋顶上啼鸣，

四周一片冰冷阴霾。

谁在我的窗上，

为我画上鲜花的纹彩？

别讥笑梦想者，

竟会在冬天看见鲜花盛开！

我梦见美丽的姑娘，

我梦见我爱的回爱，

我梦见心儿和亲吻，

我也梦见心满意足、淋漓痛快！

雄鸡啼了，

我的心也已完全醒来。

现在我孤孤单单地坐着，

只记得我梦中的爱。

我再把眼睛闭上。

我的心还跳得温情脉脉。

何时我窗上的叶子再会变绿？

何时我再能把爱人抱在胸怀？
