       好东西总是值得等待的，皮卡书屋2016年第十届皮卡英美冬令营，经过老师们的不断教研与修改，和完美主义的教学总监的要求，现在终于与大家见面了！

       皮卡书屋的冬夏令营，一直秉承着区别于平日课堂的延伸，专注在宝贵的几周假期里给孩子们展开一个无限乐趣的学习与探索的平台，使每一位个体能够活跃的思 考、专注的观察、积极的讨论、深入的阅读、开心的学习，并且发现自己的独特优秀价值，以建立未来更好的学习生活方式。今年的冬令营除了保留往年的精华部 分：Reading阅读, Science科学实验, Lunch午餐,  PE户外活动, Arts/ crafts/ cooking 美工/厨艺, Diary日记，etc等，我们新增了以下特色：

1. READING PASSPORT 阅读护照

This winter camp we will create a ‘mini-library’ within our classroom of books relating to the weekly topics. Students will receive a ‘reading passport’ and they will fill out a “visa application”(a reading responses to each book). Teacher will view their application and consider an approval by issuing visas. Students will receive a “100 Yuan Air Fee” for future camps. And Peeka Money will be given according to the books being read.

      每个冬令营教室，会有一个与本周主题相关的迷你图书库。学生们每天选书阅读，并填写“签证申请”，“签证申请”是孩子们对于每本书的阅读思考，老师会跟 每一个孩子交流其阅读理解，通过后给予“签证”盖章。如果学生可以拿到五个“签证”，皮卡给予“100元机票”奖励直飞下届夏/冬令营（抵用以后冬/夏令 营的费用），根据读书量的多少，会有相应的皮卡币奖励。

2. "BMBW: Better Me, Better World" "更好的我，更好的世界"

Peeka is launching a new curriculum which taught in UK called PSHE (personal, social and health education). PSHE is a planned program of learning through which children and young people acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives.

During this "Better Me Better World" program, focusing on encouraging others, being positive, embracing our uniqueness as different people, while respecting others, students will also discover what responsibilities they have as citizens, especially in China where its economy grows so rapidly. These responsibilities include protecting the environment, caring for future, keeping our planet clean, reducing consumption, recycling, saving resources and embracing diversity.

    “Better Me Better World”是皮卡引进的新课程，基于英国PSHE（Personal, Social, and healthy education自我、社会、健康教育） 的课程体系，结合中国国情，是孩子教育非常有意义的补充。旨在帮助孩子通过认知、理解、获得技能练习、应用技能，而更好的驾驭自己的人生，建立国际公民的 责任感，关注未来，并积极地影响家庭、社会和世界。

     中国的经济发展飞速，但环境污染很严重，我们在课程中引导孩子用宏观的角度看待地球以及其上的资源，污染的原因以及危害，带领孩子一起思考探讨我自己可 以做些什么？怎样才是一个有责任心的地球国际公民？保护环境：节约资源、减少浪费、回收利用、减少消费、整洁自律、环境卫生等等小的举止都可以对地球环境 带来不一样的改善的。我们不仅关注当下的幸福，也要展望未来。发现自己价值、关爱他人更是孩子必不可少的教育。

3. SELF-RECOGNITION 自我价值感

Students will explore the similarities and differences they share as a group. Following books like "How Full is Your Bucket" and "Do Unto Otters", students will each be given a mini bucket. They will fill each other’s buckets with kind words and compliments. During Friday’s party, students will be rewarded with their buckets after teacher read out the compliments to each student. We will encourage children to remember their unique qualities that others admire and may the special values stay within each child for ever. Our aim during this activity is to ensure the children that they should be proud of their own qualities while also showing appreciation for others.

     自我价值感+建立他人=快乐美好的人际关系。孩子从小有自我价值感的确信是幸福美好人生的基础；尊重友好的对待他人是和睦美好的人际关系的关键。

     冬令营第一天，老师学生彼此问候，两个学生一组，通过引导性讨论，发现彼此相同与不同之处。在一周的时间里，老师引导学生发现自己独特的地方，建立每个人对自己优秀独特的地方自信，并确信自己的价值。

     通过阅读BMBW书籍比如 "How Full is Your Bucket"和"Do Unto Otters"，帮助学生理解：收获很多正能量的感觉好极了，当你给予他人赞赏认可的时候，你也会获得无比的快乐。引导学生发现他人身上的闪光点同时也收 获他人对自己具体的称赞。冬令营最后一天，每个孩子会收获一桶他人对自己的称赞。老师总结并祝福孩子们：这些品质会一直伴随你的人生，无论发生怎样的事 情；积极的使用这些品质去建立他人和自己所生活的环境；同时用尊重和明亮的眼光去看到他人身上独特优秀的地方，这样你会拥有一个快乐和睦的人际关系和美好 幸福的一生。

4. DIARY 日记

With a focus on reflection, students will write about: their favorite parts of the day, new things they have learned, books they read, kind words they gave to others and received. This year, we will give each student a writing sheet with guide lines to be completed as a first draft, before writing our final version in our take home diaries.

     本届冬令营，为适合孩子不同的写作水平，我们给孩子一个写日记的模版：今天我最喜爱的环节；今天学到的新内容；今天所读书籍；我今天给别人的友好话语； 今天我收获的友好话语…孩子通过草稿练习写作，回顾营会一天的经历，再编辑到日记本上，老师会单独指导每一个孩子，以此提高孩子的写作语言和能力。

Week 1  Animals and Human Impacts 动物世界和人类影响

During this week we’ll look at the different animals' habitats and environments. Students will come to understand animals’ needs and their important role in the biological chain of our world. Humans have the unique responsibility to protect and care for animals, to make sure that their natural habitats are safe and that when we have animals in our homes that they are properly cared for. Holly, a British teacher in Peeka will share with us how she looks after her pet cat Arya. This week will lead students in looking at and thinking about how human beings can affect the Animal Kingdom. We will also help students to understand why and how we should care for animals.

Week 2 Staying Healthy in Winter 冬季健康生活

This week we will study how we can stay healthy through eating well, being active and making good life choices. We’ll learn about what makes up a balanced diet. We will also look into how we can keep our environment healthy to benefit everyone by making positive choices to reduce climate change and pollution.

Being healthy includes not only just our physical well being, but our mental, emotional, and social health are also crucial.

    •在冬季怎样保持健康的身体：平衡膳食，积极运动，做对的生活选择；

    •引导孩子们学习何为平衡营养的饮食起居；

    •引导孩子们思考并总结我们怎样从自己做起，善待周围的环境，以减少气候和环境污染；

    •健康不仅是身体方面健康，也包括思想健康、情感健康、和人际关系健康。我们会着重引导孩子发现快乐的人际关系的必要性以及如何营建一个使自己和他人都被尊重和关爱的人文氛围。

Week 3 Our Amazing Planet 奇妙的星球

This week we will explore the beautiful planet that we’re so lucky to live on. The Earth provides us with everything we need to live well, but it’s also fragile. Human beings have the unique responsibility to protect it. Students are going to learn where the pollution comes from and what caused it. During this week we’ll talk about how by working together we can make a change to the world we live in and understand that small individual actions can be powerful and influential to our environment.  We’ll also look at our planet’s place in the solar system and other planets within it.

      •学习并了解我们的美丽奇妙的地球；地球所供应给我们一切所需；

      •地球只有一个，而且它是脆弱的；我们有责任去保护她；

      •污染是怎样产生的；环境破坏的原因；

      •怎样从自我做起保护环境关爱地球，引导学生发现自己微小的行动可以对地球有积极的影响！
