6-9岁这个年龄段对于阅读来说可谓是一个关键时期。大部分孩子这时已经认识很多字了，恰恰是这个表象让很多父母忽视这个关键期，大部分父母误以为孩子已经会认字了，终于摆脱日日为孩子读书的苦恼，所以孩子不再需要亲子阅读了。事实上，这时并不意味着亲子共读可以结束了。从识字到独立阅读还有一段路要走，家长要继续帮助孩子。 大声读书是非常好的一项家庭活动，这里说的大声读书不仅仅是给不识字的学龄前小朋友，大声读书对小学生更是特别重要。对不爱读书的孩子来说，这个时期父母如果能够根据孩子兴趣选择图书并陪她/他一起读书非常关键。 6-9岁是也孩子开始认识社会文化的时期，孩子们能够阅读完整且有连接性的故事，阅读字数增加，字汇与句型的变化幅度大，已经初步形成自己的阅读喜好。家长可以采取边读边预测故事发展的形式吊起孩子胃口，让孩子学会自己在书中探索答案。
