Dear Peekabook House:
As mom of a 7-year old girl who had just spent 3-week wonderful time at your winter camp, I’m writing to say “thank you” to everyone worked at the winter camp, especially Teacher Chris and Teacher Li!
To be honest, I didn’t expect much at the beginning when we enrolled the winter camp at your Sanyuanqiao house. There are too many English study classes around during the winter holidays, which are either highly commercial nature or intensive English courses making the kids tired of learning. However your winter camp was really fantastic and made me feel like pick up a fortune.
The most impressive one is that my daughter start to speak English at home after her first week of winter camp! Thanks to the full-day immersion English environment they had, despite with some grammar or wording errors, she felt it’s quite natural to express herself in English. English is no longer something difficult in books but just an alternative way to communicate with others.
Besides her attitude change
on spoken English, my daughter also improved a lot on her phonics
pronunciation skills. But for this part, my personal opinion is
that the program should be focused on listening and reading. I
understand that writing/spelling exercises will definitely help
their reading comprehension, but the writing stuff seemed took too
much time on the class.
To my daughter, the most favourite part is the art and craft activities they had in the afternoon. They were quite relaxed and enjoyed the activities led by the creative and patient teachers.
To make the kids’ winter holiday life more unforgettable, the teachers also arranged skiing in Yuyang and visiting a career museum. It took great deal of extra efforts for the teachers to organize such outdoor activities, such as safety responsibility, meal and transportation etc. In addition to the outdoor activities, Teacher Chris and other teachers at Sanyuanqiao House also had lots of indoor games with the kids, such as Attention on Deck and Go Fish etc., which made them very motivated.
Again I’m so grateful that my daughter had awesome time at the Peekabook winter camp. Going forward, hopefully Peekabook can plan and advertise its winter/summer holiday activities much earlier so that more and more kids can join and enjoy it.
