Today's class focuses on oral English. When I asked a question, the teacher gave a example for word "lift". Lift used in British is for evelator. But in here there are several usages.

 

"Would you give me a lift?" That means can you give me a ride.

 

"You really give me a lift" means you made my spirit high.
