俚语点滴

l         Oblige me. 劳驾。Please oblige me and open the door.帮我把门打开好吗。

l         Turn out会变好的。指情况有所好转。省略了well.

l         Go far. 取得成功。If you keep studying, you’ll go far.坚持学习，你会成功的。

l         Stuffy沉闷的，压抑的，呆板无趣的。He is a nice teacher but he is stuffy. 他是个好老师，但比较无趣。  come on to sb勾引或追求某人。 full of vigor龙马精神。 prince charming白马王子。 black horse害群之马。 uphold freedom 崇尚自由。

l         Special someone表示某个人的男朋友或女朋友。当你想知道对方是否有恋人时，又不便直接问，可以用这种说法。Do you have special someone? 中国人一般用这个词来表示恋人间的关系，其实这在英语中表示比较暧昧的男女关系，并不常用，更多地用special someone.

l         Clam to do sth or clam for sth.临时抱佛脚，临阵磨枪，突击干……。 I have a deadline for Friday. I am going to clam to get it done.星期五是最后的期限，我会突击完成。 If I clam all night tonight, I might be able to do well on the exam tomorrow. 如果我今晚临阵磨枪，明天的考试我可能表现的好些。

l         Clamp down on sth. 取缔，严格约束。The traffic police will clamp down on the illegal taxi on the street.交警将取缔街上的黑出租。 Clamp down on the smoking restraunt. 严格约束吸烟饭馆。    

l         Stroke of luck. 喜从天降，太幸运了。字面的意思是被幸运击中。It will take a stroke of luck to get there on time.能准时到达那是太走运了。
