大家新年好！不敢相信，2010年就这么来了！时间过得飞快。我总是会拿出时间去总结过去的一年。无论成功还是挫折，我都会记住，我会去看看自己的人生走到了哪一步。

2009年对于我个人生活和职业生涯来说都是重要的一年。我儿子奇克去年长得飞快。他从爬到走，很快又学会了跑(现在似乎可以飞了)。这一年我看着他长大。他学我投篮得分时的庆祝动作、学我看橄榄球时兴奋的样子，让我体会到为人父的至高快乐。2009年，我的梦幻湖边别墅建成了，那是我妻子成长的地方。当我每天早上醒来，喝着咖啡，看着太阳从湖那边升起，我对自己说：“还有比这更好的生活吗！”

在职业生涯方面，我突破了自己。我赢下了自己首个季后赛系列赛，我们击败了波特兰开拓者。此前我连续五次止步季后赛首轮。这一切是在球队失去姚明、麦蒂和受伤的穆托姆博的情况下做到的，这让我开心到了极点。我们还不光是击败了开拓者这样优秀的球队，更重要的是我们还把夺冠的湖人队拖到了第七场，在上赛季季后赛中只有我们做到了这一点。这再次让我明白了团队精神和毅力的重要性。我的队友真的太伟大了。我自己也连续第二年入选了最佳防守第二阵容。这是一个非常令我自豪的荣誉。我不是一个追求个人奖项的球员，但能力被肯定总是一件让人高兴的事情。

尽管我努力让自己的人生不留下遗憾，每天都分秒必争，但我也发现2009年自己有一些缺憾。我在家庭和球场之间来回奔波，和我的工作成绩相比，我和家人亲友的相处上做得远远不够。当我抽出时间为社区群众服务时，总有很多事情要做，总有很多人要去接触。但是，有时我想慢下来，俯下身，去仔细闻闻玫瑰花的香气。我的生活节奏太快了，我认识到，人生中不是每件事情我都能兼顾。

当我展望2010年，我祈求的是健康、亲情、耐心、内心平和。因为快乐都来自这四个方面。我希望继续扮演一个好父亲、好丈夫和好朋友。在赛场上，我希望能够最大程度提升自己的能力，满足于尽我所能地拼搏，因为这是你能做到的全部。

新的一年，我希望中国的粉丝和朋友们能够在他们的生活中得到健康，幸福和愉悦。每天都竭尽全力去打拼。这是你能对自己提出的全部要求。

Happy New Years everyone! I really can't believe that it is already January and 2010! It has just flown by so fast. I always take time out of my schedule to reflect on the past year. I remember the good things and the not so good things and take a look of where I am in my life.

2009 was a great year for me personally and professionally. My son Zeke grew up so fast in the last year. He went from crawling to walking to running (now it seems like flying). Just watching him grow up made my year. The fact that he started to copy my mannerisms from my jump shot (he can really shoot!) to the way I cheer every time a touchdown is scored when I am watching football with him makes me proud and gives me the biggest smile I have ever known. In 2009, I finished building my dream house on the lake that my wife grew up on. When I woke up every morning and had my morning coffee and stared at the sun coming up over the lake, I would think to myself "Can it get any better?"

Professionally, I was able to achieve things that I never had before. I was able to win my first playoff series when we beat the Portland Trail Blazers. I had lost 5 straight times in the first round of the playoffs. It was one of the most satisfying feelings of my life to win a playoff series after losing Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, and Dikembe Mutombo to injury. Not only did we beat a very good Portland team, we pushed the eventual champion LA Lakers to 7 games, the only team to do so. I was reminded yet again of the power of teamwork and fortitude.  Amazing stuff. I earned another nod to the NBA All-Defensive 2nd team for the 2nd straight year. An honor of which I am very proud. I am not one for individual awards, but it is nice to be recognized for your efforts.

 Although I try to live my life without regrets and try to 'seize the day' every day I wake up, I look back at my shortcomings in 2009.  While I was extremely busy with my family and career, I didn't do as good of a job as I should reaching out to friends and family I have lost a connection to. While I try to do good in the community, there is always more I could do, more people to touch. And most importantly, sometimes I need to slow down and smell the roses a little more closely. I live life at a fast pace and I need to realize that not everything in my inbox of life can always be attended to.

As I look forward to 2010, I hope to receive the blessings of health, family, patience, and peace of mind. Happiness and laughter derive from these 4 things. I hope to continue to be a good father, husband, and friend. Professionally, I hope to maximize my abilities and be satisfied with doing the best I can, because, in the end, that's all you can give.

 I hope all of my friends and fans in China find the blessings of health, prosperity, and happiness abundant in their lives in 2010.  Seize the day and do the best you can everyday. That's all you can ask of yourself.
