针对英文标题（包括英语书名、英语论文题目等）中系动词be（am，are，is，was，were）首字母大小写的问题，笔者特意查阅了数十种英文原版书，发现大部分英文标题（包括英语书名、英语论文题目等）中系动词be（am，are，is，was，were）首字母都是大写。比如：

Custom House出版社2020年出版的You Are Worth It: Building a Life Worth Fighting For，目录中is和are首字母都大写。

Pearson出版社 2015年出版的Who Am I in the Lives of Children? An Introduction to Early Childhood Education，书名中的am首字母大写。

Atria Books出版社 2020年出版的Once I Was You: A Memoir of Love and Hate in a Torn America，书名中的was首字母大写。

当然，也有首字母小写的情况，比如：

Sounds True出版社2020年出版的You Were Never Broken: Poems to Save Your Life，目录中的is首字母小写。

但总体来看，英文标题（包括英语书名、英语论文题目等）中系动词be（am，are，is，was，were）首字母大写是主流。

有些英文标题（包括英语书名、英语论文题目）中系动词be（am，are，is，was，were）整个单词都大写，属于特殊情况，本研究将这种情况排除在外。
