These are the Chinese version of the extracts in this particular book, so I am going to take this great opportunity to combine my extensive reading with the foundational & preparatory work for TOEFL. Thanks!

No matter what you do, never do it only for money. The reason that we do things should be: you feel that you are fit for it and you’ve got talent in it as well. (Recommendation: principle issue)

No matter what you do, do it utmost, actively and optimally.

No matter what you do, strive to eliminate those under-miners of your efficiency.

Initially, you should question yourself: am I doing the right thing, if you are ready to work on it for your whole life? Is it enjoyable, making you content? Is it favored by your best friend? On every Monday, how would you feel? (Recommendation: simple and practical)

Ask yourself such questions: am I working hard enough? Did I take notice of those opportunities that could better the way things are done? Am I progressing fast enough? How do I do to assist people around me do better? Am I often laughing? Am I energetic? Am I eager for victory?

Treat yourself justly, instead of successfully. (Recommendation: can’t figure out…)

You are more gifted that you expected, and it is your duty to exert them fully.

Money is vital. When you have money, you have right to choose. But never become slaved by money, for it is the tool for realizing goals, not the goal it self. It makes sense that money can never be brought or taken, as always said.

Do the things that are meaningful to you, so you would feel successful and will be successful.

Relax your mussel and taste new things. Do those you presumed unattainable to you.

You would never succeed unless you set up plans as well as milestones for yourself.

Perceive an issue from various angles, remember, the glamorous success comes from the reversed view of ordinary stuff.

Every day learn something new. Write them down, otherwise you would forget.

Share your success with people, instead of pocketing it all.

See if you can find the law, the ability of which is called “from trees to forest”. Large scenery is always composed of various formats; consequently if you can figure out all sorts of relations and forms, you will find opportunity. (Recommendation: deliberate)

Feel fine. If life is not so enjoyable, try to make it amusing. Laughter suit you, fellows accompany you, the majority of whom are good guys, striving for success and deserve your friendship.

Don’t show your amateur performance on important exhibitions, such as sales conferences or whatever. Suppose would you employ an amateur surgeon for your operation? (Extra: unless your want to suicide) (Recommendation: powerful metaphor)

Improve your voice, to make it resonant and enjoyable for both you and your audience.
