财务管理备课过程中的小插曲:
为了提高财务管理课程对学生们考证、从业或学习深造的适应性,备课时我一定都给出相关术语的英文及其英文概念。今天备课时,突然发现平时常说的“债券”一词在英文中有太多可对应的词汇,比如bills、
notes、bonds、Treasuries等。而且听财经新闻时,往往各种说法都有。
这几个“债券”的英文词汇真的完全相同吗?肯定不会,否则造这么多词干嘛!查了百度、维基百科、牛津字典。总算是把几个单词的意思理解了,区别开了。
把bills, notes
,bonds和Treasuries的区别写下来,作为一个学习记录,也分享给网上的朋友们。
difference between bills, notes and bonds are the length until
maturity:
Treasury bills are issued for terms less than a year.
Treasury notes are issued in terms of 2, 3, 5, and 10
years.
Treasury bonds are issued in terms of 30 years.
Often Treasury bills, notes and bonds are simply called
"bonds" for short. They are also often referred to as
"Treasuries."
