2009年10月27日，美国尖叫奖在洛杉矶举办了颁奖典礼。典礼中约翰尼·德普、杰西卡·阿尔巴、克里斯蒂娜·里奇、《暮色2》泰勒、昆汀·塔伦蒂诺、梅甘·福克斯和贾斯汀·朗等大腕儿纷纷出场上台颁奖领奖，场面好不热闹。
尖叫奖是道钉电视台（Spike
TV）为科幻片设立的奖项，在青少年中有着广泛的影响力。这一奖始于2006年，每个奖项由青少年投票评出，有着很强的观众参与度和一定的受众。这也是梅甘拿奖后感动到哭的原因。得了这个奖等同于得到了青少年科幻迷们，既主流观众群的认可。
2008年尖叫奖的最大赢家是影片TDK（黑暗骑士），TDK的票房也很好地证实了观众的选择。2009年的尖叫奖则并不集中在某一部影片上。2009年有成绩的商业大片很多，尽管达不到TDK的高度，却也颇为多元。喜吔？哀吔？（Mr.
