西恩·波特(巨石强森)作为一所感化院的见习长官整日里都在思索着如何将那些尚迷失在成长道路上的孩子们从迷途中解救出来。并且对于目前在感化院里的堕落少年们当中始终没有迷途知返的个别孩子深感痛心。在经过了一番考虑过后，西恩·波特决定组建一支感化院橄榄球队，希望通过橄榄球这项综合了团结与对抗等多重拼搏内容在内的对抗性比赛，来逐渐将这群少年拉到正途上来。在经历了几番周折之后，感化院的橄榄球队终于取得了参加正规高中联赛的机会。这样，从形式上看，这里的孩子们俨然已经被社会承认他们的尊严和地位。与此同时，在性格坚毅且充满激情的波特教练的带领下，这些精力旺盛的小伙子们更是逐渐在一次次的比赛中重拾自信，并获得尊敬……
