A new DVD giftset has been announced by Warner Home Video called the Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton Film Collection, which is to be released on 5th December 2006. This five-disc set dedicates two discs to Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, whilst the remaining discs include the DVD debuts of The Sandpiper, The V.I.P.s and The Comedians.
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will include a commentary by directors Mike Nichols and Steven Soderbergh, a commentary by cinematographer Haskell Wexler, an "Elizabeth Taylor: Intimate Portrait" featurette, a "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?: A Daring Work of Raw Excellence" featurette, a "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?: Too Shocking for Its Time" featurette, a 1966 Mike Nichols interview excerpt, a Sandy Dennis' screen test and an Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton movie trailer gallery. Soundtracks will be in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean.
As for the other releases, The Comedian will come with a vintage featurette "The Comedians in Africa" with The Sandpiper seeing two featurettes: "The Big Sur" and "A Statue for the Sandpiper." All three of the remaining discs have soundtracks in English, French and Spanish, with all four films supporting subtitles in English and French. This collection will retail for $49.92, with the option to purchase Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? separately for $26.99.
