1.  After watching the movie "Happy," what is the most shocking fact or event that you came across?  Explain why.
After watching the movie “Happy”, I was shocked by the happiness index, measured not by the income and social rank of  we people, but largely by the activities that we choose to do. In this movie, it was clearly shown that money only count 10% of happiness. This fact shakes the common sense in my mind. Like many other people, I thought that more money is linked to more happiness. This movie tells us the opposite fact instead, which makes me feel very surprised.

2.  What was your overall reaction to this documentary?  Explain using details from the movie.

This movie is very encouraging to me. From this movie, I learned that happiness is not necessarily linked to people’s money and income. For example, a poor Indian father in this movie feels very happy when his son is back home from school. This story was touching my heart a lot when I watched the movie. Although he is very poor, the Indian father still has a strong feeling of happiness.

Another encouraging part of the movie is the story of a woman who was hit by a truck. Although she was dumped by her ex-husband after the car accident, she still could find her true love and happiness later on. This story provides a good example to support the research finding by scholars in Harvard University. The personal decision about what to do indeed plays an important role in the feeling of happiness.
