Howard County police say they're charging the teenaged daughter and her boyfriend with Friday's early morning murder of the girl's father.

Police say they found the body of Dennis Lane at his home in Ellicott City after getting a 911 call around 4:20a.m.

Jason Anthony Bulmer, 19, of the 8800 block of Town & Country Blvd. in Ellicott City and Morgan Lane Arnold, 14, of the 8100 block of Winding Ross Way in Ellicott City, will both be charged this evening as adults with first- and second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Police believe Bulmer and Arnold have discussed killing Lane through electronic communication for the last two months, and that yesterday they discussed finally committing the murder during the night. Investigators believe Arnold told Bulmer that she would leave the basement sliding glass door unlocked so he could make entry during the night to commit the crime.

Investigators believe that once Bulmer was inside the residence, Arnold encouraged him to stab her father and Bulmer committed the act. Police have learned that Bulmer began stabbing Lane, and an adult resident inside the home heard the commotion and called 911 around 4:20 a.m. She was not injured.

Both Bulmer, who had blood on his hands and clothes, and Arnold were sitting in an upstairs bedroom when the police arrived. Officers found Lane deceased with multiple stab wounds in a different upstairs bedroom.

Detectives believe Arnold told Bulmer they would run away together after the murder. It is unclear what motivated the two to kill Lane.
