美国东部将受飓风袭击，我们这里人心惶惶.....

今晚去韩国店买菜，只见店里店外都是人，我还遇到了好几个熟人。看上去似乎要大难临头，居民们人人都在抢购食品似的。下午学校又发来了通知，学校这个关那个停的，搞得还真挺紧张。我们这里离美国巴尔地摩港大约有几十里地。如果飓风从巴尔地摩港登陆，我们所在的学区确实有点儿玄。不过我直觉我们这里不会有什么大事儿。谁知道呢，明后天就知道啦。祝福所有美国东部的朋友们都平安。

小宝今天下午去学校见了老师，等下周一开学时，这小人儿就该上三年级了。这一年又一年的,日子过得多快。老师说，下周学生们考语文尖子班，再下周考数学尖子班。快刮飓风了，我还得惦记着这些考试呢。谁说美国的孩子容易啊。

Emergency Information for Parents

School System Prepares for Hurricane Irene

All Howard County Public School System facilities and fields will be closed on Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28, in anticipation of weather conditions associated with Hurricane Irene.  All school-sponsored activities, including athletic practices, and community-sponsored events are canceled.

School officials are coordinating emergency response with Howard County government through the Howard County Emergency Operations Center. If Howard County is without power on Sunday, parents are asked to listen to radio stations that are part of the Regional Emergency Broadcast Alert System for the latest school information (WBAL-AM, WIYY-FM, WMAL-AM, WTOP-AM, WTOP-AM). 

School system maintenance crews will be inspecting buildings and grounds as soon as possible on Sunday and any change in the school schedule for Monday will be announced early Sunday evening.
