Gift Giving and Ethics
It's that time of year when you may be thinking about saying thanks to your child's teacher with a special gift. Parents are reminded to limit the value of gifts to teachers and other HCPSS staff members to under $25. The HCPSS Ethics Regulations prohibit staff from accepting gifts worth more than $25 because gifts of greater value might tend to influence the employee's impartiality or independent judgment or could give the appearance of doing so. Gifts from an entire class may exceed the $25 cap. Thank you for keeping gifts within the accepted limit.
