一.教材分析

本节课教学内容是外语教学与研究出版社高中英语教材第三册Module3 The Violence of Nature,主要介绍Tornado(龙卷风)和Hurricane(飓风)等自然灾害的威力。文章有描述说明,有典型事例,图文并茂,极富吸引力。

二.学情分析

所教学生英语基础薄弱,阅读能力较差。所以本节课在教授重点词汇、句型的同时侧重阅读能力的培养和阅读技巧的提高。

三.教学目标

教学目标

1.Knowledge aims(知识目标):Learn the important phrases and sentences and get the information about the violence of nature.

2.Ability aims(能力目标): Improve students’ reading ability. (reading and comprehension /reading aloud)

3.Emotion aims(情感目标):Develop students’ confidence and determination to fight against disasters of nature.

教学重点

1. Understand the important phrases and sentences.

2. Practice reading skills.

教学难点

Deal with language points and improve students’ reading ability.

【设计说明】:学生课前预习,填写问题卡。教师根据学生的问题设计教学目标,使教学目标更加明确,重点、难点更加突出,保证课堂教学的高效性。力求做到学生需要什么就教什么。本节课设计了知识、能力、情感三维目标,其中能力目标中阅读的能力包括阅读理解能力和大声朗读的能力,本节课在阅读能力的培养和阅读技巧的指导方面有所体现,在大声读的教学方面也有所体现。

【设计说明】:与一般教师的课堂不同的是,这里出示的不是教学目标,而是问题卡。这是为了突出“学”的目标,因为“教”比“学”更重要。问题卡填写之前先是个人自学,然后通过小组讨论最后确定本小组的问题。这样的形式不仅可以有效地培养学生预习的习惯和发现问题、解决问题的能力,而且可以培养他们自主学习、合作探究的能力。

【设计说明】:根据文章内容设计以上选择题,旨在培养学生的阅读能力。并且注重了阅读技巧的指导。另外与教材文章配套的题目有些不太实用,我们完全可以自行设计,真正做到用教材教,而不是教教材。

Step4.Careful Reading

1. Read part1 aloud and fill in the blanks.

the key: pick up(拾起,捡起;搭载;偶尔学会某种语言;无意听到消息;收听广播;恢复,好转)。put them down(把他们放下)。

(2).They can ____the fur ____the bake of a cat and the feathers off a chicken. They can destroy houses, but _____(留下)the furniture inside exactly____ it was(原来的地方).

the key: take off(脱衣服;起飞;成功,受欢迎)。leave, where(引导地点状语从句)

the key: on average, causing(现在分词作结果状语)

2.Read part2 and part3 and finish the tasks.

(1)Translate the sentence

the key:到十九世纪九十年代末期,他已经搬到了Galveston,在那里,他于飓风袭击的前一年去世。

分析:by+过去的时间点,用过去完成时;by+将来的时间点,用将来完成时。

【设计说明】:本环节让学生细读课文,然后完成任务。第一部分旨在培养学生朗读的能力,同时学习短语、句型,达成知识目标。第二部分根据课文设计了两个阅读表达类型的题目,旨在培养表达能力。阅读表达题是山东高考重要题型,但平时教学中往往被忽视。通过这种设计,我们可以把阅读表达题型的训练贯穿于课文的教学中。

【设计说明】图片的选择联系课文内容,贴近生活实际,让学生有感而发,有话可说,一吐为快。读是输入,说是输出,正符合先输入后输出的原则。先组内小试牛刀,再到台前热情展示。本环节设计既是为了知识巩固、能力提升,也是为了达成情感目标,号召同学们面对灾难要团结合作,充满自信。
