Regina: 74岁，葡萄牙籍加拿大人，讲葡萄牙语和流利的英文！

大侠属于比较容易被老人喜欢的孩子，一开始还老琢磨自己到底哪里比较让老人待见，后来从第三者口中知道了，最核心的竞争力就是“有足够的耐心听他们讲话！”HOHO

从小就特爱听故事，老人们的絮絮叨叨我就当听故事了，到同学家做客，笑眯眯的听听同学妈妈的唠叨和嗔怪，很温馨，还同时赢得老人的喜爱，多好啊！太姥姥、姑奶奶住我们家，吃饭时就听老人讲一些遥远的事情，例如她们年轻时曾经经历战乱啊，或者后来孩子一大堆啊！，不仅听，还是带着心在听，有适当的提问和讨论，呵呵，哪个老人不希望絮叨时能有个好听众呢！（此乃大侠的江湖秘笈，不小心就泄漏了，哈哈）

婆婆喜好大侠的一个原因估计也部分归功于此，津津有味的听婆婆讲她美国的大家庭，听婆婆讲她年轻时怎么和公公相遇，对我来讲，新鲜而有趣！婆婆的故事真的是一箩筐，永远听不完，她还顺带讲很多别人的事情，所以这次葡萄牙之旅，很多的内容就是听婆婆讲话！看老人那么的兴致勃勃，最礼貌的方法就是洗耳恭听吧！呵呵

航班取消这么让人沮丧的事情，但是Regina不这么认为，她说如果航班正常，我们怎么会有机会住Ponta Delgada的旅馆？如果不是这次取消，我们怎么会有机会认识彼此呢！是啊，大侠也是这么想的，所以当我家男一和公公婆婆，包括里斯本的JAC都在替我担心时，俺这个随遇而安的人正没心没肺的和Regina 夫妇在餐厅里喝着红酒品着大餐呢，哈哈

得知航班取消，俺拖了手提行李排队等待机场的安排，长长的两队人，井然有序，没人争吵，没人抱怨，连甩脸子嘀咕的都没有，反正是天气原因，航空公司尽了最大努力，碰到的就碰到了！Regina 排在我身后，她突然的答话了：“这个大厅真的有点冷啊”，我笑了笑给她解释：“后面刚才有块板子被风吹下来了，风就是从那里来的！”她笑了笑缩了缩脖子说：“我们往返加拿大和Santa Maria 20多年，这还是第一次航班取消呢！”我嘿嘿的笑了：“这是我第一次来这里，就被我鸿运撞上了”！俩人的愉快交谈就是这么开始的！

后来看他们俩夫妇带那么多行李（4个超级大的箱子，还有各自的手提行李，他们要回岛上住3个月呢！）我就提出我们一起去酒店，我可以帮他们搬行李！Regina的老公是个79岁的老头，Umberto太可爱了，每次搬行李他都一马当先：“女士靠边，女士靠边，我来搬！”看他那么矫健，Regina就幸福的站在边上说：“没问题，他年轻着呢！”Regina74岁，看他们老夫妇这么折腾但仍然的这么乐观和平和，我这个“小姑娘”还有什么好抱怨的呢！

酒店安顿好，出租车就等在门口拉我们去吃晚饭，我居然把“吃饭单子”拉在房间了，所以我只能返回去拿，等我再跑出来，发现Regina他们的出租车已经走了！我马上回前台叫了另外一辆车，路上我还小人的想“他们居然不肯等我，看来是饿极了！”下了车，透过玻璃就看到灯里的Regina, 她看到我，马上轻盈的跑过来帮我开门，给我一个大拥抱：“总算又看到你了，路上我一直念叨，但是司机说他送完我们还得拉其他客人呢，不肯等，真高兴你赶来了！”，说着往楼梯走，她说：“餐厅在二楼，我怕你担心，所以在楼下等你！”真的是除了感动还是感动啊，萍水相遇而已，但是老人却这般的关心！

一顿晚饭下来，四个人（另外拼桌的也是一个单身旅行女孩子！）聊得很开心。这帮被航班耽搁的人马在餐厅和酒店里简直就成了度假的熟人，第二天一早7：30总算终于再次起飞，8点钟到达了目的地！由于大侠的行李丢了，所以也不用等了，Regina也被老公轰出来：“你和Gracy 先出去吧，行李我来搬！”我们俩出来就看到了我那可爱的婆婆！

新年午饭在Emilia家一起吃的，20多个人，聊起来，她兴奋的说：“Regina我知道她，她唱歌很好，年轻时她在电台唱呢！你们什么时候去看她,我也一起去！”哈哈，这个小岛真的是不大啊！（Regina 在机场见到我婆婆时也拊掌大笑：我就知道是你，Gracy说你在教堂里演奏和唱歌，我就猜我认识你！）真的就像一个大家庭！

在岛上的假期很快，新年第三天，我和婆婆去海边看Regina，几个人喝着下午茶吃着岛上的小点心，他们住的房子已经很老了，但是每年冬天他们都会回来住，尤其现在年龄大了，觉得加拿大冬天实在太冷了，尽管在那里生活了大半辈子，但他们从来都没忘记自己的家乡！Umberto年轻时是个捕鲸水手，后来举家移民加拿大，如今儿孙一大片！

Regina即兴在我们的要求下引吭高歌，她的老公，充满了骄傲和自豪! 看他们随时随意的互相手拉手，我这个晚辈充满了敬仰和期待，他们美好的婚姻真的传递了太多的正面信息：“生活可以很美好，无论何时何地，只要和相爱的人在一起！远走他乡也好，辗转漂泊也罢，只要一家人相知相爱，不离不弃，就是美好的幸福生活！”

Regina慷慨的礼遇给大侠丰厚的喜爱，她告诉婆婆说：“我在机场第一眼就爱上Gracy了”，她表达得真挚而自然！（我的脸都红了，呵呵）后来婆婆说“我们讨饶的时间太久了”，他们说：“我们等的就是这个时刻啊！”离开时，Regina拿出一条手工桌布：“我只送东西给我所喜欢的人！”和东方人不善言谢含蓄腼腆相比，Regina是那么大方和宽厚，她准确的正面的传递对人的喜欢，真实、自然、生动！

Journey to Portugal: A Pleasant Meeting with Regina

I’m that kind of favorable kid to elder people. At the beginning, I wonder why, later, somebody told me, the key is “I am a patient listener to them”!

I love listening stories. For others, the “gossiping” from the elders, but I take them as lovable stories! When my Oma or auntie stays at my place, they tell us something happened long time ago, things like the chaos they experienced caused by wars or a bunch of kids they had later. To be a good audient to elders, instead of listening, we should listen with our hearts; give some proper questions and discussions. Who don’t like having a good audient when he’s talking? J (And this is my tip of how to get along with others in social life also~!;)

And it’s perhaps part of the reasons why my mother- in - law likes me. Listening to her telling about her big American family and how she met my father-in-law, for me, it’s interesting and fresh! Oma always has stories and other fun things to tell, so this time, part of the content of my journey is listening to her stories! Haha

The cancelation of my flight is really depressing thing to me, but Regina don’t think so. She said, if the flight works well as it should be, how could we have such chance to live a hotel like Ponta Delgada? And if not, how could we get the chance to know each other? Right! I do think so! So, when my parents-in-law were worrying about me, including JAC in Lisbon, I, the happy-go-lucky person, was enjoying our big meal and red wine with Regina and her husband, haha.

As informed about the cancelation, I was waiting in queue to airport’s arrangement, same with other two queues of travelers in a good order. Anyway, it’s all resulted by the weather, and the airline company has done their best, so we can’t complain any more. When Regina standing behind me, she said, “it’s really a bit cold in the hall.” I smiled and explained to her, “There is a ceiling blown by wind.” She shrunk her neck into shoulder and said,” we have travelled between Santa Maria and Canada for more than 20 years, and it’s the first time that the flight gets cancelled!”  I laughed,” This is my first time coming to here, and I just run in to it! ” That’s how our pleasant chat begins!

Seeing they two carrying so much luggage (4 super sized cases, and some separated hand bags, since they’re going to stay on the island more than 4 months!) , I suggested we go the hotel together, then I can help them carrying. Regina’s husband is a 79 years old man, Umberto is so cute, he offered to lift the luggage every time, “ladies aside, ladies aside, let me lift them!” since he looks so strong and vigorous, Regina just stood aside happily, “no problem, he’s still young!” Regina is 74 years old, since they were this calm and happy with the trouble, what I, such a little girl, could complain about!

Settled down with the hotel, we went out with taxi for dinner, and I even forgot the “dinner paper” at hotel room, so I have to return to get it, when I came back, Regina’s taxi is gone. I ordered another one at check-in desk, on the way there, I was wondering, they must be too hungry to wait for me. When my taxi arrived there, as Regina saw me, she walked briskly to me and opened the door for me and gave me a big hug also, “Finally see you here! I was nagging all the way, but the driver said he couldn’t wait for you anymore.”  While we walked to the stairs, “restaurant is upstairs, in case you get worried, so I wait you downstairs.” I was so moved, meeting by chance, while she is this caring to me!

During the dinner, we four (including another single girl traveler) have a pleasant chat. This bunch of stuck travelers became familiar at the hotel, and finally the flight took off the next morning at 7:30 and arrived it’s destination at 8. Since I already lost my luggage, no more waiting for me, then me and Regina saw my lovely mother –in-law when we walked out.

I had my new year dinner at Emilia’s home, with more than 20 people together, during our talking, she said happily, “I know Regina, she has amazing singing, and she even performed on TV shows when she was young! I want to join to visit her when you go to see her sometime! “  Haha, what a small island! ( at airport When Regina met my mother-in- law, she applauded,” I know it’s you, Gracy said you are in the church chorus, I guess it’s you!”) And what a big family!

Happy time flies fast on the island, 3^rd of Jan, Oma and I went to coast to visit Regina. We several had some afternoon tea and dessert, although the house they have there it’s very old, they come back to live for a while every year. Especially recent years, Canada’s winter is too cold, although they have spent half of their life there; they have never forgotten their hometown! Umberto was a sailor for catching whales when he’s young, then they migrated to Canada, till now they have a big family there!

Regina gave us an improvised singing, as her husband, he’s so proud of her! See them holding hands all the time together; I am full of admiration and expectation, as their wonderful marriage has passed us this much positive information:” life can be wonderful, as long as we’re with the one we in love! No matter far from home, or on the way of journeys, as long as we’re a family, never leave each other, life is happiness!”

Regina showing her big favor for me generously, she told Oma,”I fell in love with Gravcy at the very first sight at airport!”, and the way she expressed is so sincere and natural! (I was flushed for her words though. :) later on, Oma said,” We have stayed your place for so long.” And they said, “We look forward to this moment! ” When we left, Regina brought out a hand- made table cloth, “I only give present to the person I like!” Compared with the introversive and shy easterners,  Regina is so generous, and she has her exact and positive expression_r_r_rs of her favor to others, so real, natural and lively!
