At a special time, at a special place, we decided to have a special wedding for our daughter.

Still be so petite and innocent appearance, how does the daughter unexpectedly arrive the age that get married for his wife?

Nine years ago (2011-08-12), I said goodbye to my daughter at Beijing Capital Airport after she had gone to study in the United States. On the flight back to Chengdu from Beijing, I wrote this post:

"Seeing my daughter so frail and frail, it was hard to imagine being able to travel so far away on my own. As a little girl, she has unified her socialization and internationalization. From being spoiled to growing up independently, from a student learning a foreign language to starting to explore her career, I can imagine her challenges and confusion. Today, I am standing at top of the Town with a bird's eye view of the sky and D.C. In every city, there are probably a few unique "landmarks" with profound meaning. Here, the Iwo Jima Memoria and The Potomac River are close by, and almost all the famous "landmarks" in the US capital can be clearly seen in the distance. The Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol, the Jefferson Memorial, the He Kennedy Center, The National Airport,... Even in the distance, the view of the Redskins Stadium was breathtaking.

With the entire city in view, a special "micro wedding" - epidemic fashion - is held here, attended by only family members and a officiant, a court-appointed licensed judge.

This may be the world's most miniature wedding, but the wedding solemn, holy, warm, procedures, music, costume and other links a lot; It must have been the biggest wedding in the world. We are experiencing an epidemic that is spreading across the globe. Changes unprecedented in a century are accelerating in the world. Both the development landscape and the daily life of ordinary people are undergoing devastating changes. The tree of life is green, and life will go on. I told my children that what they saw was not only a city or a country that had marked a magnificent cultural landmark for hundreds of years, but also a historical play in which misunderstanding and hatred between human beings have inevitably occurred, or people have turned to love and mutual assistance. It was also a picture of life with all the lights on in the world.

The father is most proud of having a good daughter, the father is the most sad daughter to grow up.  

At the wedding, I made an exception and said in English:

"I would like to thank Greg, Kate, Joan and Lorman for their important assistance in my daughter's wedding to Mr. Zhang. It's great to be here in the most wonderful part of Washington D.C. - top of the town. Today is a very important day for us. While the epidemic is still plaguing people's lives, let's congratulate a couple on their marriage. I predict that after today, the epidemic will slowly dissipate. Coincidentally, today is Chinese Valentine's Day. This festival comes from a beautiful legend, telling the story of two bright stars falling in love in the sky, I don't know if it has something to do with Mr. Zhang's astronomical research. I want you to remember this beautiful story, remember this beautiful day, remember your responsibility, and love each other forever. And Mr Zhang must remember not to bully my daughter..."

Looking at the horizon magnificent ups and downs, clouds like scenery, I shed tears,... Isn't that what life is about?
