Subject:Suggestion: Go see LW4 and cheer for the villains, it's just a movie anyway...
Ihad the best time watching LW4, simply because the theatre was half Asian and we all knew Jet Li. When Jet first appeared everyone was yelling "Jet Li!". Everybody was talking to the screen and it was funny as hell. The whole experience was different because of this.
Isee LW4 as a landmark movie in a big positive way. Richard Donner was the first American director to make a likeable Asian villain. Everyone felt bad when Jet Li died, and he was the only one people clapped for at the end during credits.

Another yah from an Asian for LW4. I'm in San Francisco (everyone knows Jet Li here) Asians were packing the theatres, and everyone was cheering for Jet in the theatre I saw it in. I thought it was great, cheer for the Asian villain (it's just a movie right?). At the end when they were showing the pictures of everyone, everyone clapped for Jet Li, it was halirious. I could tell there were some white guys that were "perturbed" over the whole thing. Richard Donner did make Jet likeable which isn't unusual. There are many villains that are made likeable, it makes the plot more intricate. This is the first American movie I've seen that makes an Asian likeable.
Meland Danny were funny, but it was Jet that made everyone go "Holy shit!". Now, watching LW4 in an all white audience who doesn't have a clue about Jet Li or Asians for that matter would probably have annoyed me.
Ialso liked how Hollywood didn't hype up Jet's first appearance in an American movie. Jet is legit, and doesn't need the hype, I think it did work out better for him.

SoI went and much to my surprise enjoyed it quite a lot. Most of it is more comical than anything, but there are some good action scenes and then there is Jet. He is awesome, he dominates the screen with a quiet intensity whenever he is on it or blows it away when he goes into fighting mode. For a actor who is the sixth billed, he has a lot of screen time and a lot of action scenes. And he is incredible - the audience ahhed and oohed his every move and broke into huge applause on 2 occassions.I really hate these big summer blockbuster type films, but if you like Jet go see this film.He also has one very emotional scene in which he really got into it - very impressive acting.I don't know if this will make him a star in the US - but it will sure be a big boost

Subject:How long can you safely cheer Jet in LW4
Palof mine went to see Lethal Weapon 4 to cheer Jet during the opening credits. Well, he says, no opening credits, but as soon as jet appeared, he started shouting "Jet! Jet Li" and kept on applauding whenever he appeared. BTW some there were some asian people in the audience and he thinks they also applauded
What'sthe longest someone is able applaud Jet in this movie and escape unscathed?
我和朋友去看致命,当李连杰出场时, 他都在嚷着”Jet Li’及拍掌,直至周围的观众望着他…有些亚洲观众都在鼓掌..
请问能为李连杰鼓掌的最长时间为多久?

JetLi stopped by Taipei to promote Lethal Weapon 4.
Alot of American actors play both the good guy and the bad guy. It's just the American culture. The important thing is that he is a good actor,'' Li said during a brief visit to Taipei to promote Lethal Weapon

``Thefirst time I met the director, Richard Donner, I asked him why I was to play the villain. He said that he had seen my films and that I was not only a kung fu master but that I also had good acting abilities.
``Hewanted me to try a different character. I don't have to play only the hero because if you do a good job everybody will like you.'
Li,after all, has long been renowned for his on-screen heroics as the as the legendary Wong Fei-hung and Fong Sai-yuk. And that is why Romeo Must Die, in which he finally gets to play the good guy for an American audience, is to be his eagerly awaited follow-up.
But,according to producer Joel Silver, Romeo Must Die had to compete with another film called The Art of War for the honour of being Li's second Hollywood film.
``Wehad an option with Jet for another movie which is not unusual when a studio has a deal with an actor or a director or even a writer for the first time. We had
