More than 1,000 Olympic volunteers have started an eight-day intensive foreign language course as they prepare for August's Games.



The trainees gathered in Beijing on Sunday afternoon and are expected to be the leaders of hundreds of thousands of Olympic volunteers.

A volunteer said, "I will learn some oral English here, and learn some Olympic knowledge ".

No matter how good or bad their foreign languages are, the trainees are all very excited to learn from training expert Li Yang, who is famous for his "Crazy English Learning".

Over the next seven days, the volunteers will take twelve lessons each day, studying general language skills as well as learning special terms specific to the Olympics.

They will also be trained in the simulated scenarios and take four tests each day, prior to meals and bed time.
