——2012“洋厨房”颁奖典礼篇外之上海新发展亚太万豪酒店

This year, with the joint efforts and the collaboration of the mass media——International Channel Shanghai, Grand Hotel, SINA Style, You Are the Chef 2012 awarding ceremony, gathering almost all the prominent elites in the hospitality industry, was resoundingly held in the Marriott Shanghai Changfeng Park, which has successfully organized the ceremony in the last five years.

On the banquet, the general managers and administrative personnel from different places, such as Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Sanya, etc, on behalf of their hotels, received the glorious awards, shared the working ideas and enjoyed the pleasure and relaxation brought by the brilliant show. 

As one of the sponsors of the ceremony, the Marriott Shanghai Changfeng Park invested great manpower and material resources and formed a service team to take charge of this activity. Undoubtedly, as the key figure of this team, Mr. Rauf Malik, put great energy on the banquet. Prior to this, he has cooperated with the You Are the Chef for two times, in the last five years, he was also invited to attend the banquet. Hence, he was quite familiar with the details of the ceremony arrangements. “This time, to hold the ceremony with You Are the Chef, we should offer something new, something special.” He said.

Since the first preparatory meeting, the decisiveness and the prudence of Mr. Rauf Malik have laid a solid foundation for the success of the awarding ceremony. Be it significant or trivial, he insists on handling every detail of the preparation by himself. Every time, in the meeting, not only did he actively respond to the sponsor’s suggestion and demands, but also put up with various original ideas. The special lamp made of hollowed white gourd, for instance, matched with the multicolored lights and demonstrated the exquisiteness and elegance of the whole ceremony.

At the beginning, out of ingenious and exquisite ideas, the colorful name stickers of the candidates were posted on the corridors outside the banquet hall, and the original design created an atmosphere of Hollywood Walk of Fame, making every guest feel that they are the most shinning star of that night. Except for the splendid show of Broadway and the foreign band, there were also many other highlights. When the Korean chef of the hotel Sam took the second place, Mr. Rauf Malik started the Gangnam-Style Dancing with the chef, leading the whole night to its climax. This performance also showed us his passion and enthusiasm. Of course, those who know him have already understood his “passion”, for this quality is not only demonstrated in this work but in his life. All the time, he believes that the people who embrace their life with enthusiasm could get abundant returns from the life. The opposite attitude could help people to resolve all the difficulties. 

In the preparatory stage, on the one hand, the hotel have to maintain its normal operation, on the other hand, it need to make preparations for the You Are the Chef awarding ceremony, which is definitely a great challenge for every department of the hotel. Besides the demands of the sponsors, the hotel still has to meet the requirements of the food suppliers. It is the first time to collaborate with the consular institution——the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and the success of the awarding ceremony should also be ascribed to their painstaking efforts. On the banquet, all the materials and ingredients, including seafood, meat, dessert and liquor, are provided by the New Zealand suppliers. To give special but delectable delicacies, the executive chef A1 and his team made great efforts, and the food that night indeed received high acclamation, which proved the extraordinary cooking strength of the Marriott Shanghai Changfeng Park. Hence, it is the effective coordination, adequate preparation, powerful execution of the decision that made the activity went so smoothly. 

To highlight the main theme of this ceremony and to create a more relaxing atmosphere, the organizers once held coordination meeting for several times to negotiate the related affairs of the ceremony, including the collection of the creativities, the design of the plan and the adjustment of the details, etc. while during this process, the quality of pursuing excellence of Mr. Rauf Malik and his team gradually set an example for the sponsors, for it is the originality and the carefulness that added so much different highlights to the banquet. Besides, the five general managers, on behalf of their own hotels, made cocktails and demonstrated their superb skills. In the Lucky Draw, The most arresting and tempting prize ——two round-trip tickets to New Zealand and the three nights accommodation in Langham Auckland Hotel, was also delivered on the ceremony. Moreover, the winners of the Best Dressed Male and the Best Dressed Female received a set of shining Diamond Pendant, delivering by three prominent general managers from different groups.

If You Are the Chef is a symphony, of which the ceremony is a movement. End of this one means the new start of another one. 台前，江浙沪，北京，天津，三亚，重庆等各地的总经理和酒店高级管理人员欢聚一堂，在一个个年度大奖中收获着荣光，在觥筹交错间碰撞行业理念；在感官盛宴里品味着惬意，也在欢快互动的节目上得到肆意放松。

幕后，作为典礼主办方之一，上海新发展亚太万豪酒店为此次盛会，集结了宴会统筹、餐饮及酒店各个重要部门的人力物力，组成了一支精英团队，为确保庆典的成功举行全力以赴。毋庸置疑的是，总经理马立祺先生作为这个团队的灵魂人物，于此次颁奖典礼的顺利举行起到了关键的作用。曾经两度和“洋厨房”颁奖典礼团队合作，历届均被邀请到场作为重要嘉宾的他，非常熟悉预备流程，他说：“再度合作举办“洋厨房”颁奖典礼，一定要做一场别开生面，与众不同的晚会。”

从第一次开预备会议开始，马立祺先生就以其处事之亲力亲为、临事之细致用心、决事之周全迅速，给了我们极大的信心，让这次洋厨房颁奖典礼的成功在乍始之初就有了夯实的基础。果不其然，之后的每一次会议，总经理都会参加，不仅在事务上积极而快速的解决各主办单位提出的意见和需求。还充满创意地提出各种想法，比如现场独特的冬瓜雕灯，配合着流光溢彩的色调映衬出整台晚会的美轮美奂。

晚宴开始之初，酒店把全部厨师的名字印在星型的贴纸上，布满了进入宴会厅的走道，仿若走在好莱坞星光大道一般，让每一位到场的嘉宾都意识到他们就是当晚最璀璨的明星，从而造就了晚会的一大亮点。踏着万千星辉，当晚节目高潮迭起，包括热辣的百老汇舞蹈，充满异域风情的乐队伴唱等，当获悉酒店韩国厨师Sam获得第二名时，马立祺在台上和厨师一起大跳骑马舞，引热全场。与开会时冷静睿智的他判若两人，也让我们了解到总经理热情似火的一面。当然，熟知马立祺先生的人早就领略了他的“热情”，这种热情不仅体现在工作中也体现在生活里，他始终坚信，热情面对人生的人，生活也同样会热情待你，骨子里积极的态度可以让困难迎刃而解。

在筹备期间，酒店不仅要维持自己正常的运作，还要兼顾“洋厨房”颁奖典礼的事务，着实让酒店各级都有了额外的压力。酒店在满足主办方的要求之余，还要尽量符合食品赞助商的要求。由于本次颁奖典礼是首次与国家领事机构——新西兰贸易发展局合作，并得到了其工作人员的大力支持与协助，也带来了新的需求与磨合。晚宴所用海鲜、肉类、甜品、酒全部都由新西兰供应商赞助，使用新西兰最新鲜的进口食材。怎样利用这些的食材整合出有新意而有特色的菜品，对厨师无疑是一个挑战，酒店行政总厨Al及他的厨师团队，于当晚精心打造的盛宴让满座宾朋赞不绝口，用行动再次证明酒店的餐饮实力不负盛名。而整个活动流程得以顺畅进行，厨房和餐饮服务的配合，宴会部门的积极准备、紧密合作及强有力的执行可谓功不可没。

  为了突出本次典礼的主题并营造出更轻松的氛围，主办各方多次举行协调会议，以群策群力，从创意的征集、预案的设定、细节的调整各方面都要经过反复斟酌，而这一过程中，马立祺先生及其领导团队所表现出的品质的苛求及对细节的掌控也成为其它主办方学习的典范。正是经过这些大胆创意、细心打磨的过程，晚会才有了一些不同以往的亮点。不仅仅新发展亚太万豪酒店是当晚的主角之一，由不同酒店集团委派出的5大酒店总经理调制鸡尾酒环节，也给晚会增添了不少乐趣，各总经理大展身手，掀起了晚会的又一轮高潮。当晚抽奖环节中，还特别设立了一个最引人注目的大奖奖品：新西兰双人往返机票及奥克兰朗廷酒店三晚住宿。此外由三位来自不同集团总经理代表同时评选出男女最佳着装奖，奖品为夺人眼球的钻石吊坠。
