一起来教老外做月饼

中秋,是中国人的传统节日。每逢到了那天,家人都会围坐一桌赏月、吃团圆饭。还有一个不可遗漏的风俗习惯就是吃月饼。

 

在中秋节的前夕,《乐学中文》剧组来到上海千禧海鸥大酒店中餐厅向点心师胡满财大厨讨教制作月饼的方法!

 

那么你有没有想过在明年的中秋节尝试自己亲手制作月饼,向亲人、朋友表达思念之情呢?现在,就让我们一起去亲眼瞧瞧整个流程吧!

 

上海千禧海鸥大酒店拥有368间客房和套房,座落在上海虹桥商业和高档住宅区中心,毗临古北家乐福、距离上海国际贸易中心,上海世贸商城,更是咫尺之遥。3间富有情调风格各异的餐厅,东西方美食精华在此融合。忙碌一天后,伴随着曼妙的音乐在酒吧品尝美酒。

 

看了胡满财大厨的整个制作过程才知道,原来和面则需要花费近两个小时的时间!所以平时吃着店里买来的月饼,会觉得月饼的口感那么糯。可见,和面这个工作对于月饼的口感起了关键性的作用!

 

待面粉和完以后就是将准备好的馅料放入面粉内包裹。这个可以根据个人的喜好来决定,豆沙、莲蓉、蛋黄等等。就像自己在家包粽子,总比店里来的个大,肉多一样,做月饼也可以如法炮制。贪嘴的你可以将月饼内陷塞的满满的!

 

接下来就是将包好馅料的面团放入模具内进行压制。现在的家居市场越来越多,这些模具都可以在那里买到,甚至可以做出打破传统造型的月饼来。

 

最后将成形的月饼放入烤箱内烤十分钟就可以开动了!

The Mid Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional holiday in China., when family members get together to have the reunion dinner and appreciate the glorious full moon on that night. And the most important custom that we cannot miss is to eat moon cakes, an indispensable delicacy on this occasion.

 

As the Mid Autumn Festival is drawing near(On the eve of the Mid Autumn Day), the language-teaching program on ICS, “In Chinese” shooting crew came to Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai, and learned how to make moon cakes from Paul Hu, Chinese Pastry Chef of the hotel.

 

Don’t you think it’s a great idea for you to express your feelings to your family and friends about how much you miss them by giving them moon cakes that are made by your self?  Now, come with us and see how the moon cakes are made!

 

Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai Located in the city’s busy shopping centre and residential area of Hongqiao, and close to the landmarks such as Shanghai Mart and Shanghai International Trade Center, the 368-room Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai is right at the corner of Carrefour Gubei Store. The hotel also features three restaurants that will challenge your taste buds with Western or Chinese cuisine. It’s also a good choice to come and indulge yourself in a glass of wine after a hectic day whilst enjoying the live music in the Bars.

 

You would never imagine that it would take such a long time to make the perfect dough, but it did take our Chef Paul Hu nearly 2 hours to make it. And that probably explained why the moon cakes bought from the stores taste so soft and delicious, the key point is the perfect dough!.

 

After the making the dough, place one portion of filling in the middle , gather the edges to enclose the filling and pinch to seal. It’s totally up to you what filling to add, such as sweetened lotus seed paste, bean paste, egg yolk, you name it. Besides, you can put more filling if you like, and make your own moon cake bigger than those from the store, as people often make bigger cakes at home than the bakeries do. You can make yourself some super-sized moon cakes if you just cannot resist the temptation of the delicious dessert.

 

Put the filled dough in the mould, and gently press it to fit. Invert and remove the mould. As there are more and more household goods markets now, it’s easy for you to get moulds of all shapes and sizes from the one near your place, and make moon cakes of non-traditional, creative shapes if you want.

 

Now put the moon cakes in to the toaster, bake for 10 minutes. And your own moon cakes are made!
