Continues It’s Charity
Projectsto Support The Education of
Underpriviledged Children in
Hainan Island
Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa,
the first Hilton Worldwide Resort in China, continues its support
of the education of underprivileged children from Hainan Island
with the hand-over of a Computer Room, equipped with computers and
basic audio-visual facilities, to the “Hilton Sanya Chun Lei
Class” in a simple ceremony.
Since the soft opening in
December 2005, Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa have adopted a
“Hilton Sanya Chun Lei Class” for their various charity projects.
The award-winning resort’s signature beach concert series which
started during their first anniversary in December 2006 also
enabled the resort management to introduce a charity cause to the
holidaymakers who attends these musical spectaculars. Proceeds from
these concerts are donated to the “Hilton Sanya Chun Lei Class”
and to children from Hainan who are suffering from serious eye
disease and need financial support for operation.
Located in a mountainous area,
over 60 kms away from Sanya City, the “Hilton Sanya Chun Lei
Class”, which is composed of a total of 87 children from Hainan
Island, whose families faces financial difficulties in sending them
to school, have benefited from the resort’s charity projects to
enable them to continue their primary and middle school education.
Since the establishment of “Hilton Sanya Chun Lei Class”, the
Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa’s management team led by Human
Resources department have celebrated every special festive season
with the children. On Children’s Day and the first day of new
school semester in 2006, the resort’s management team went to
visit the school to donate various school supplies & stationery
and books and treated the children to a special meal. The kids got
excited over the gifts they received and promised to study harder.
That same year in October, Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa’s team
celebrated the National Day with the children through a special
lunch prepared by the resort’s culinary team.
Commenting on the charity
projects, Jean-Pierre Mainardi, newly appointed General Manager of
Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa remarked: “We believe that it is
Hilton’s social responsibility to lend assistance to children from
Hainan Island who faced financial difficulties to continue their
education. Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa has received several
notable accolades recognising the team for operation and service
excellence and our success was made possible because of our team’s
dedication as well as the strong support from the local community.
It is just appropriate to give something back to the community and
take the social responsibility to lend assistance to unfortunate
members of the local community. We are honoured and pleased that
some of these children have already graduated from middle school
and we are committed to continue to support the education of other
children.”
