‘first’, with its ULTIMATE RARE VINTAGE WINE DINNER, held
in mid-January. Complemented with the innovative culinary creations
of Paul Pairet, chef de cuisine of the Hotel’s
internationally-recognized Jade on 36 Restaurant & Bar,
it was an unprecedented evening savoured by ten connoisseurs, most
of whom had flown in from around the world, specially for this
occasion. It was definitely an outstanding
first. Even for a city as progressive as
Shanghai.
A restaurant and bar as
modern, cosmopolitan and yet as Chinese as Shanghai itself, the
recently opened Jade on 36 – which has already been recognized in
Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure and
Newsweek - features critically acclaimed Chef de Cuisine
Paul Pairet, whose avant-garde talents are frequently mentioned in
the same breath as those of giants like Alain Ducasse. Dishes at
Jade on 36 are influenced by a multitude of culinary traditions
from around the world, in partnership with new, often revolutionary
