Dear Colleague,

Today I am announcing that Zhang Hui, Vice President of Consumer Notebook BU, has decided to leave Lenovo to pursue his career dreams after 15 years of service. This is a great loss for CBG, even Lenovo. In fact, Bill Amelio and I both tried to retain him. However, we finally accepted his request to leave. We respect his career choice and wish him well in his further development.

Zhang Hui has outstanding ability in leadership and innovation and twice received the Lenovo top award - Lenovo Award in past 15 years. He led the team to develop notebooks which addressed market demands and enhanced our position in China and overseas market. For instance, our notebook U110 won best-of-show awards in CES in January 08. He worked a key role to translate consumer’s global strategy to innovative initiatives. He helped take our notebook business to a new milestone. On behalf of the entire CBG team, we appreciate Zhang Hui for his great contributions.

Wei Jun, Vice President of Consumer R&D, will succeed Zhang Hui to lead the Notebook BU. Wei Jun joined Lenovo in 1992 and has done an excellent job leading the R&D team to build a consistent consumer product family image, improve development efficiency and capability to deliver exciting consumer products worldwide. Through these achievements, Wei Jun has proved his ability to deliver results, lead with a positive attitude and execute in a complex and rapidly changing environment. Please give your full support to Wei Jun to lead the NB team to further success.

We are undergoing a global economic crisis. We need to play with a winning attitude and act quickly to adapt to the environment. These are keys to win the battle. I firmly believe that consumer’s NB team will help us address the growth opportunity and continuously breakthrough in the global consumer market going forward.

This announcement is effective immediately. Zhang Hui and Wei Jun will work together to make a smooth transition in the coming month.

In conclusion, I want to express my best wishes for Zhang Hui‘s future career and Wei Jun's success in his new role!

张晖在领导消费笔记本事业部期间表现出了卓越的领导和创新能力。他曾两度获得联想最高荣誉奖-联想奖。他带领部门开发的消费笔记本产品全面满足了市场需求并帮助联想迅速的在中国及海外消费笔记本市场占据重要地位。更是并凭借新产品U110在今年的CES大展中获得最佳产品荣誉奖。在这样一个充满变化和竞争的消费市场，张晖在把消费整体战略贯穿到笔记本创新业务当中发挥了重要的作用。他的付出使得消费笔记本事业部的业绩达到了一个新的里程碑。在此我代表整个全球消费团队对张晖杰出的贡献表示衷心的敬佩和感谢！

消费研发总经理魏骏于即日起将接任张晖，担任消费笔记本事业部总经理。魏骏于1992年加入联想集团并领导消费产品研发团队。他带领他的团队在建立消费产品系列形象，提高开发效率和加强开发能力方面取得了巨大的进展。一系列满足市场需求的产品被不断推出并受到了客户及合作伙伴的高度好评。所有这些成绩充分证明了魏骏在复杂变化的环境中以积极的态度带领团队推陈出新并适应市场需求的杰出能力。因此让我们全力支持魏骏带领消费笔记本团队以取得进一步的成功！
