原声大碟中闯进Billboard热门单曲榜的9首歌曲中，有5首歌曲都打进TOP40，分别是刷新近半世纪以来单周跳升名次最高纪录，窜升至第4名的男、女对唱曲〈Breaking Free〉，一周之内从第100名直冲第23名的青春劲歌〈Get'cha Head In The Game〉，发行首周登陆第28名的男女对唱情歌〈Start of Something New〉，发行首周直击第34名的合唱劲歌〈We're All In This Together〉，发行首周攻占第35名的轻快对唱曲〈What I've Been Looking For〉，其它打进百名排行的歌曲包括了〈Stick To The Status Quo〉、〈Bop To The Top〉、〈What I've Been Looking For (Reprise)〉、〈When There Was Me and You〉。电视电影中饰演特洛伊与凯碧的两位主角Zac Efron、Vanessa Anne Hudgens更刷新了新进歌手在初次进榜的两个礼拜之内破天荒连创4首进榜单曲的纪录，超越披头士4个礼拜创造4首单曲的速度。此外，〈Breaking Free〉与〈Get'cha Head In The Game〉这两首歌曲还入围了2006年艾美奖最佳歌曲的提名。

2007年8月，这部剧持续发烧到中国。除了CCTV将在这个暑假引进该电影之外，EMI更将在8月引进该电影的原声碟。与原版不同的是，此次DISNEY联手EMI在中国大陆地区推出特别版。特别邀请到了亚洲全创作天王胡彦斌，人气青春偶像邓丽欣及全民超人气偶像团体兄弟联翻唱了其中的2首歌曲。

胡彦斌和邓丽欣此次翻唱的是曾经首次进Billboard就窜升至第4名的《Breaking Free》的中文版《另一个自己》。这首歌由香港著名的音乐人陈少琪亲自作词，是一首相当青春立志歌曲。刚刚在香港与老东家EMI高调续约的音乐才子胡彦斌此番与邓丽欣首次合作，在歌曲中两人深情地演绎了年轻人对理想的努力与对未来的憧憬。
