Many people go to school for an education. They learn languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can make a living. School education is very important and useful. Yet no one can learn everything from school. A teacher,no matter how much he knows can not teach his students everything they want to know. The teacher’s job is to show his students how to learn. He teaches them how to read and how to think. So much more is to be learned outside school by the students themselves.
It is always more important to study by oneself than to memorize some facts or a formula(公式). It is actually quite easy to learn a certain fact in history or a formula in maths. But it is very difficult to use a formula in working out a maths problem. Great scientists, such as Einstein,Newton and Galileo didn’t get everything from school. But they were all so successful. They invented so many things for mankind. The reason for their success is that they worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. They would ask many questions as they read and they did thousands of experiments.
Above all, they knew how to use their brains.

A. Only learn more at school             B. needn’t go to school

D. learn to learn at school and learn more outside school

A car needs gas to run and your body also needs food to work for you. Eating the right kind of food is very important. It can help your body grow strong . so take care of what you eat.
There are four main food groups altogether. The dairy group has food like milk, cheese and sour milk. The other three groups are the meat and fish group, the fruit and vegetable group, and the bread and rice group. Each meal should have at least one food from all four main groups. With all these food together, you will be given enough energy during the day.
It is easy to get into bad eating habits. You may eat your breakfast in a hurry to get to school on time. Or you may not have time for a good lunch. It may seem easy to finish your supper with fish and chips all the time. But you will find yourself tired in these days and you can not think quickly.
Watching what you eat will help keep your body healthy and strong. It is also good to take some exercise. It will help you eat more if you take a walk or play games in the open air. Having a good eating habit with some exercise is the key to your health.

M: Today we are going to talk about the climate of the United States. The United States has many different kinds of climates. On the west coast, the temperature changes very little between summer and winter. In the north central states, people wear light clothing in the winter. In the southwest, the climate is pleasantly warm during the winter, but summer is hot. In the eastern part of the United States, summers are usually hot and winters are usually cold. Spring    temperatures are comfortably warm and temperatures in autumn are pleasantly cool. Years ago, people in the colder parts of the United States did not often eat fresh vegetables and fresh fruit during the winter. Today, however, trucks and trains carry fruit and vegetables very quickly to all parts of the United States. In this way, Americans send their climates to people in other states.
