惊悉卢国邦先生逝世，我的心情悲痛万分，久久不能平静。今天，重新翻阅电子邮箱中的“Karl Lo”文件夹，以寄托无限的哀思，其中，有十几封以“怎么老是我？”为主题的有关《如梦亦如电：美国近代图书馆业的如是观》的往来电子邮件，真实地记录了我们在一起的快乐时光。卢国邦先生以“怎么老是我？”作为电子邮件的标题进行自我调侃，源于我给他讲的英译中笑话：How are you（怎么是你？），How old are you（怎么老是你？）。今天重新阅读这些电子邮件，仿佛卢国邦先生仍然活在我们身边。现选择其中若干以纪念忘年挚友卢国邦先生。

Today, I heard from Shen Zhijia of Colorado who found my name via Google about my recent visit to China. She got the impression that I was at the invitation of a certain Guang Dong Water Power Professional Technical Institute. This reminded me of my big neglect in mentioning your kind invitation. The lacunae could imply that I was invited by someone else or was visiting China on my own. Is it still possible to add that an acknowledgement thanking you and SYU for hosting me such as “盛蒙中山大学程焕文博士邀请……”or some more details of the institutions that invited me. This should clear the confusions and show my gratefulness in a small way. Thanks for any things you can do for me. Please pardon me for the inexcusable negligence.
