http://img.mp.itc.cn/upload/20161003/c7262ead96a7453a827afb3f54e8e6a2_th.jpg

  我简单翻译资料如下:京吉Gingee,是由一组石头小山上的防御性城堡构成的印度教古迹.由仇拉王朝(Chola dynasty )建于公元9世纪.克里斯纳吉利(Krishnagiri)城堡位于北方,拉加吉利(Rajagiri)城堡在西边;常作拉延东(Chandrayandurg)城堡在东南边;

GINGEE“The Troy Fort of India”

  Start quick in morning from Pondi or Chennai and reach by 10AM. Please do carry water , some fruits, juice . ASI maintains the fort and charge a local fee to tourists. The fort is well maintained. The fort on the very top will take around 1 1/2 hours to reach. As we start to reach the top part, climb is a bit sharp. The fort closes by 5:00 PM. Difficult climb for old people.

  Their are stairs on some part while rest is just a small path way. Do not expect any shop at the top of the hill for water or fruits. Caps are must for summer.

  The fort has seen lots of fights and was occupied by a lot of empires from Marathas to Dutch to British. At the bottom of the hills one can find museum and other buildings while on the top of the hill there are some buildings meant for storage of grains. Most of the buildings are destroyed. There are no facilities available on top of the fort.

  Guide is not required since nothing much is left over. Can find some cannons around the hills.

  Gingee is basically a group of hillocks around which fortifications were done to make a Fortress. Built by the Chola dynasty during the 9th century AD, Krishnagiri to the north, Rajagiri to the west and Chandrayandurg to the southeast. The three hills together constitute a fort complex, each having a separate and self-contained citadel. We climbed Rajagiri and Krishnagiri hills. The Rajagiri Fort had beautiful granaries, gymnasium, kalyana mandapam or the marriage hall. The climb is slightly demanding and can feel tougher if you visit it in the peak of TamilNadu summer. But its enjoyable. It also has a temple dedicated to Kamalakanni, believed to be an incarnation of Draupadi. The Krishnagiri hill has a flight of steps of granite stone and runs of a temple complex on the top. Worth a visit.

“Krishnagiri Fort (Rani Fort) ”Physically demanding climb, but there are places to rest, on the way. Excellent view from the top. Many structures in a state of ruin at the top, including couple of temples. Lots of monkeys around.

  Make sure that you wear shoes and not chappals. Carry hat/umbrella with you. No toilets around, neither are there any restaurants / snacks available anywhere near by. Carry enough water. And don't forget your camera!

“Queens Fort visit”There are two hills you can climb; King's Fort (the highest climb) and Queen's Fort (the shorter climb that we did). The Queens Fort climb probably takes 45 min to 1 hour to climb. You ascend via stone steps, some of which are very steep, so this might be difficult with small children or older visitors. Take plenty of water. Great views from the summit. There are multiple structures at the summit, which are worth seeing.

  You can access the roof on most of them. Great picture opportunity. There are no bathroom facilites at the Queen's Fort.
