写完这封给南非朋友的英文信,我象重新考了一次雅思WRITING!

分享出来,让后来者知道如何向外国人推荐广州旅行....
Welcome to my city Guangzhou! The old district of downtown is called YUE XIU, which I recommend you stay at. Meanwhile, the most charming traditional old district is called LI WAN, which locates on the west of the district YUE XIU. The REN MIN Road separates them. The most traditional places are in the north and east of the PEAR river(Zhu Jiang).
The hotels I recommend are below. Pay attention to the Map of Guangzhou (attached). They all locate around the metro station XI MEN KOU, which is in the cross of the REN MIN road and ZHONG SHAN road. You can walk a few minutes arrive this station from your hotel.
The first choice:
The second choice:
The price of these 2 hotels are around USD20 for a single room. Walk to each other no more then 20 minutes. Around hotels, there are many things to eat to view to do. Lazy Gaga locates on the south nearby the famous mosque, while the YING SHANG is in the north closed to the Buddhism temple, which is the central ancient Guangzhou.
As you arrive on time at 22.10 at Baiyun airport from the South Africa, you are sure can take a taxi to your hotel with around RMB100. But I don’t think you can catch a taxi without waiting for a long time. Because Baiyun airport is so huge that you maybe have to spend 1 hour or more to check your passport and take your luggage. It is too late, the metro and the most lines of airport bus (air express) stop running. As a result, more and more passengers make the TAXI rare. So, it is better for you to take the airport bus (fare: around RMB15) to the Guangzhou Railway Station (pronounce in mandarin: Guangzhou Huo Che Zhan广州火车站, locates in LIU HUA Road). This line of air-express runs still the last flight coming. Then, take a taxi form the railway station to your hotel with RMB10-15.
I think it will be midnight even in the second day as you arrive your hotel. And you will feel hungry. Never mind. There are many midnight restaurants around your hotel. They offer Cantonese food, north Chinese food, Indian food, Arabic food…if you can’t find them, 24 hours McDonald’s is available. Here, you can get a local SIM card for your smart phone, VERY CHEEP! Maybe around RMB20 is ok. You should choice the China Unicom(mandarin: zhong guo lian tong), the one special for internet, and take a internet package. As you do that, you can connect your family with WeChat or WhatsApp anytime anywhere without any international call fare.
By the way, Guangzhou is a supper city. It’s always traffic jam. So you should take the subway as possible as you go out. The yellow taxi is good for foreigner because the driver is Cantonese, who know everywhere and can speak a little English. Important Notice: You should never try to take any public traffic tools at the peak time! Except you want to experience thousands of Chinese people being together just like the flamingoes in the South Africa.
If you need any other help, let me know please.
Best wish
Wu.
