低调而开放的辽宁大学
——摘录辽宁大学半年外事活动

虽然由朱德总司令题写校名的“辽宁大学”建校不足80年，但是它却是新中国第一所经济院校、第一批招收外国留学生的八大高校之一。1965年8月，辽宁大学首次迎来了100名越南留学生学习中文，从此，辽宁大学拉开了外国留学生教育的序幕。它不仅是辽宁省最好的文科大学，而且是大辽宁文化区域重要的文化符号之一。多年来，辽宁大学默默无闻地对外传播中华文化。2012年底，由辽宁大学与达喀尔大学合办的孔子学院在达喀尔大学揭牌，系中国在法语世界——西非国家建立的第一个孔子学院，开启了中文教育正式进入该国高等教育体系的序幕。辽宁大学造就了不少文化交流使者，如意大利人马可·穆勒(曾在辽大读研，专修大众文学)，被誉为“把中国电影推向世界的第一人”。
“对内低调，对外开放”的辽宁大学早已成为沈阳市一道独特的风景线，源源不断的海外高校代表团(包括中国台湾地区)来沈阳观赏辽大风景。
