Part 2 Is He Real?
-New Display at the Shell Station
Watch what happens when unsuspecting customers enter the
Shell station shop and see a very lifelike mannequin of Michael
Schumacher! What would you have done?
This short video was filmed by hidden cameras. The
setting is a Shell station, and customers are entering the shop
from the forecourt. Just inside the door, there is a special Shell
V-Power display with what seems to be a lifesize mannequin of
Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher in his driving uniform. Customers
enter the shop passing by this display. Closer shot pans up from
the foot of the display to see that the mannequin is actually the
real Michael Schumacher. A customer walks by and heads to the
magazine stand. Other customers notice the display, their faces
showing doubt about whether he is real. A young woman cautiously
approaches the display and touches the uniform. He remains still
while she does this but as she walks away, his eyes follow her. A
man touches the uniform and jumps back in surprise. Michael winks.
A male customer is shown paying the Shell cashier for his fuel. He
starts to leave the shop but stops and looks closely at the
display. He then turns and asks the Shell cashier if it is really
him. Off-camera, the cashier responds, "Yes, it’s him". The man
smiles and says as he exits, "I had to look twice!" After the man
departs, we see another hidden camera view of the shop with Michael
standing in his display. He cracks his neck and the sequence
ends.
Just after he announced his F1 retirement in September,
Michael Schumacher took time out to visit a Shell station in
Switzerland. It was a day to have a bit of fun after working
together with Shell and Ferrari non-stop for 11 years at the
pinnacle of motorsport. We installed an array of hidden cameras to
capture the moment. Now you can see three different scenes from
that special day.
