Dr. Phil Gee Join the Board of Directors of Wireless Edge Canada
Wireless Edge Canada is delighted to announce the addition of Dr. Phillip Richard Gee to its Board of Directors. He will also play the role of Chief Scientist for Wireless Edge Canada assisting Wireless Edge to maintain technical leadership in wireless infrastructure products and applications. Dr. Gee who has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from University of California at Berkeley, brings to Wireless Edge over 20 years of extensive industry experience in Information Technology infrastructure, Strategic Technology Planning, Systems Development, project management, and quality assurance.
Phillip is currently Chairman and Chief Scientist of RxWave International Inc. Phillip expertise lies in encryption, security, and network design. Phillip has architected and implemented the network infrastructure for concourse D at the Calgary Airport. Phillip held key positions as Chief Scientist for Wi-LAN, Chief Technology Officer for Alberta Treasury Branches, Chief Scientist for MCI (US based), and Director of Technology for SHL Systemhouse Inc.. Phillip has also participated in a number of discussion panels at Internet, Network, Cryptography, Wireless and Security conferences.

As Chief Technology Officer for Alberta Treasury Branches, Phillip recently architected and completed a $20 million technology rollout. His role involved managing RFI and RFPs, and developing strategic technology direction and partnerships with Information Technology service providers. At US-based MCI, Phillip was part of the senior management team in Advanced Technology as Chief Scientist, and was responsible for developing IT strategic direction for the corporation. As Director of Technology for SHL Systemhouse Inc., Phillip was part of he senior management team in Calgary and was providing strategic consulting to CP Railway, Petro Canada, Suncor, Amoco Petroleum and the Calgary Airport Authority. Phillip has also participated in a number of discussion panels at Internet, Network, Cryptography, and Security conferences.

MCI Systemhouse , a subsidiary of Washington, DC-based MCI Communications Corporation, was the result of the merger of Canadian company SHL Systemhouse with MCI's technical services branch. The new company was formed to provide systems integration and outsourcing services.
On February 11, 1999, MCI Systemhouse was acquired by EDS of Plano, Texas for $1.65 billion. Prior to the acquisition, MCI Systemhouse was one of several entities that formed UML Partners, a group devoted to the development of the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
