题记：美国总统巴拉克·侯赛因·奥巴马（Barack Hussein Obama）有个同父异母的弟，名叫马克·奥巴马·狄善九（又译为恩德桑乔）（Mark Obama Ndesandjo），是奥巴马父亲第三任妻子美国人鲁斯所生。在中国生活十五年，还娶了中国媳妇。

马克在美国布朗大学取得了数学和艺术学学士学位，然后在斯坦福大学拿到了物理学学士学位。此后，他又在埃默里大学取得了工商管理硕士学位。报道称，马克之后在美国的几家企业工作了12年。2002年来到中国深圳，最初在深圳福利院给孤儿们教授钢琴课，做慈善。马克酷爱中国文化，给自己起了中国名字“狄马克”，自学汉语水平达到七级，喜欢唐诗、书法和读《红楼梦》等古典名著，书法以行楷见长；是户外运动爱好者，游泳、登山都是行家；他还是素食主义者，喜欢烧烤，却只能吃土豆片和豆腐干；除此之外，他还是作家、画家、音乐家。已经出版《从内罗毕到深圳》《多元文化：认识我自己的漫漫长路》《非洲观察和其他随笔》等书，2016年7月9日，他的新书《走出肯尼亚：一个人和一个家族的奋斗》在北京发布，8月19日在广州上市首发。2008年，马克与河南姑娘刘雪华喜结连理，成为了中国女婿。

【马克的新书】

2001年“9·11”事件后，这位美国人产生了前往东方的愿望。他把目标锁定在亚洲，游历了印尼泰国马来新加坡之后，他发现这些国家都有中国的痕迹，他感到亚洲的中心在中国，于是中国就成了他新的选择。中国南方的蓬勃发展，完全出乎马克的想象，各种机遇和挑战，让他无比兴奋。于是，马克创立了一家商业咨询公司，为在非洲、亚洲和美国投资的商家提供信息服务，同时还在深圳经营了一家烧烤店。转瞬间，就过了十五年。

【马克的签名】
马克说：“我出生在肯尼亚，在美国迷失了自我，却又在中国获得重生。”马克和奥巴马的父亲是地道肯尼亚人，共有四次婚姻，育有八个孩子。马克的母亲鲁斯来自美国，是哈佛大学高材生，他还有很多亲戚和兄弟姐妹生活在在美国、欧洲、非洲和中国。因此，这个家庭代表了多元文化，黑人、白人、黄种人；伊斯兰教、基督教、犹太教；非洲、欧洲、美洲、亚洲……各种肤色、宗教、民族和国家，奥巴马家族就像一个“小小联合国”，而马克则自称“世界公民”。
马克第一次见到奥巴马是1988年，他7岁前在肯尼亚生活，后来到美国求学。他与哥哥奥巴马关系不错，但自己不愿意靠哥哥推销自己，以至于来中国最初的六七年里，很少有人知道他和奥巴马的关系。
