    在采访的最后，孙平华教授邀请Mary Glendon教授为其中英文新作撰写序言，Mary Glendon教授愉快地接受了邀请，并纳入工作日程。Mary Glendon教授表示希望该书作者孙平华教授能为哈佛大学图书馆提供一本样书，供那里的学者参考使用。孙平华教授承诺该书出版后为哈佛大学图书馆赠送样 书一册。孙平华教授表示，如果需要的话，还会到哈佛大学采访她，她听后兴奋地说，若下次来访，他将召集哈佛大学的同事参与研讨。

A Chinese scholar made a significant contribution to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Who is he? what is his view? What did he do during the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Pengchun Chang, a philosopher, playwright, educator and diplomat, was able to explain Chinese concept of human rights to the other delegates and creatively resolved many stalemates in the negotiation process by employing aspects of Confucian doctrine to reach compromises between conflicting ideological factions. He insisted in the name of universalism, on the removal of all allusions to nature and God from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The talk discussed Pengchun Chang’s contribution to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights based on the detailed documentary analysis.

SUN Pinghua, received his Ph.D. in Human Rights Law from China University of Political Science and Law. (CUPL) Currently he is a professor at CUPL and research area includes “ Human Rights in China”, “Human Rights Law”. He has published The Study of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Human Rights Protection System in China, Historic Achievement of a Common Standard: Pengchun Chang and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
