在本人日常教学批改作文时,经常会发现有同学把表达“将来”含义的短语写成 In future，而事实上，虽然说 in future 这个短语也存在，但并不表达“将来”的含义，下面将具体区分二者的差别，希望能对同学日后写作有所帮助和借鉴。

    具体而言，in future 做 from this time onwards 来讲，亦即汉语的“今后”之意，而 in the future 才相当于 in time yet to come，也就是“将来”的意思。例如：

    （1）The present king's grandfather made a law that in future everyone in Lilliput must open their eggs at the smallest end. 

    当朝国王的祖父制定过一条法律：今后生长在小人国里的每一个人打鸡蛋一定要从最小的那头打。

    （2）In the future, automation may enable human beings to enjoy far more leisure than they do today.

    到了将来，自动化将使人们享受到比今天多得多的幸福。

试比较：（1）There is no excuse in future.（下不为例）（用于现在时态）

        （2）There will be no such a chance in the future.（将来就不会再有这样的机会了）

             （用于将来时态）
